Press Release - Missing Juvenile (Recovered)
On Sunday, July 30, 2023, at approximately 13:30 hours, the Middle Township Police Department Patrol Division received a report of a missing fourteen-year-old juvenile. Through an extensive investigation by the Middle Township Police Department Major Crimes Unit, the Cape May County Prosecutors Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the juvenile was safely located in Acworth, Georgia, shortly after midnight on August 3, 2023.
As a result of the investigation, two adult males, Yester R Montecillos-Vazquez and Sergio Gomez were charged with 2C:13-6a, luring a child and 2C:5-2a(2), conspiracy to lure a child, both second degree crimes.
The Middle Township Police Department would like to thank the FBI Newark Atlantic City Residential Agency, FBI Baltimore Field Office, FBI Atlanta Field Office, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department in Georgia, Homeland Security Investigations, the Cape May County Prosecutors Office, and the local residents of Middle Township for the successful recovery of the missing juvenile.
The investigation into this case remains on-going.
Any charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless they are proven guilty.
