Details: On Monday, April 5, 2021, at approximately 6:47PM, Corcoran Police Officers observed a known warrant subject in the front yard of a residence in the 1400 block of Whitley Avenue. The suspect, Alejandro Barboza, had two active Kings County warrants for his arrest for charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and vandalism. One of the warrants was a felony no bail warrant. When officers attempted to arrest Alejandro he fled into a house and began barricading himself inside of the residence. All other occupants of the residence were evacuated and officers established a perimeter with the assistance of the Kings County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol. Multiple attempts were made to have Alejandro exit the residence in the form of announcements and telephone communication, but he refused all orders. The Central Valley Regional SWAT team was activated and responded to this incident. Upon threir arrival they took over the scene and began ordering Alejandro to exit the residence. Alejandro eventually exited the residence and was taken into custody. Alejandro was transported and booked into the Kings County Jail for his two active warrants and for a fresh charge of obstructing, delaying, and interfering with a police officer. He is being held for these charges with no bail.
