Illegal Marijuana Cultivation located at the location of a residential fire.

NARRATIVE:
At 0233 hours Pomona Police Officers responded to 1509 Kenan Way to investigate reports of a residential fire. They observed the home was on fire at which time, LA County Fire Department arrived and extinguished the flames. Located inside the residence were various amounts of chemicals commonly associated with marijuana cultivation. The Fire Department conducted a safety check of the residence to determine if there were any victims of the fire. They did not locate any occupants; however, discovered approximately 200-300 burnt marijuana plants. LA County Fire Department Hazmat team was activated to render the location safe. The Fire Department Arson was also activated to investigate the cause of the fire. Both LA County Fire Department Personnel and SoCal Edison will be on scene for an extended period. The property owner and or renter is unknown and there no suspects are in custody. This is an ongoing investigation.
