The deputy involved in the Bodega Bay shooting on July 4th is identified as Jason Pasero, an 18-year veteran of law enforcement. He served 14 years with the San Bruno Police Department prior to being hired by the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office 4 years ago. He is currently assigned as a resident deputy and canine handler in the Bodega Bay community.
