Woman remains hospitalized after major injury collision Monday evening.

Incident:    Major Injury Collision 
Location:    Pacific Commons Blvd. and Curie Street                
Date/Time of Incident:   April 29, 2019 at 5:32 p.m.
At 5:32 p.m. Fremont Police Dispatch received a 911 report of a major injury collision.  Officers arrived to the scene and found a head on collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Pacific Commons Blvd. and Curie St. An Acura TL driven by a 19 year old man had turned left from northbound Pacific Commons Blvd. in the unprotected left turn lane directly in the path of a BMW 328i, which was traveling southbound on Pacific Commons Blvd.. The BMW was occupied by a female driver and an elderly female passenger. Both vehicles were traveling approximately 20-25 mph at the time of the collision.
The elderly passenger in the BMW was unresponsive at the scene with visible injuries and a weak pulse. Paramedics Plus transported the elderly female to a regional trauma center where she remains unresponsive and on life support. Both drivers were transported to local hospitals for complaint of pain injuries and have since been discharged. All involved parties are Fremont residents. 
The intersection of Pacific Commons Blvd. and Curie St was closed from 5:32 p.m. to 9:07 p.m. Both vehicles were towed to FPD for evidence and the investigation remains ongoing. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be a factor.  Case investigator is Traffic Officer Anthony Piol and the scene was managed by Traffic Officer Jacob Shannon.
