Ponga su limite para pensar cuando y ayude a reducir los accidentes! Unete al esfuerzo.

In 2018, the “Car in Gear, Brain in Gear” educational and enforcement traffic program resulted in a 3.4% decrease in accidents (1736 to 1677).  The Sheboygan Police Department would like to continue this downward trend and this can only happen through the assistance of fellow motorists.  It is planned that each week a traffic safety or crash reduction tip will be sent to SPD social media users.  It is hoped that these tips are read and assists with reducing the readers' probability of being involved in an accident (sharing information with non-users is encouraged).  In addition, the SPD will inform the public monthly on where our community stands in regards to the number of accidents reported thus far this year.  Once again, it is hoped that readers will follow the numbers and make every effort to spread the word on the importance of traffic safety in order that we can “beat” the previous year’s accident numbers.

So, even with our recent snow-covered roads, the reported number of accidents within the City of Sheboygan for 2019 is 266.  Somewhat surprisingly, this is the exact number of accidents we had this time last year.  Please continue to remember that when you put your “thinking cap on” when you get behind the wheel that you have just joined the effort to reduce accidents.  Thanks for joining!
