Traffic Investigators are seeking the public’s help to locate a suspect driver involved in a hit and run fatal collision earlier this morning.
On Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at approximately 3:51 a.m., Fremont Police and Fire responded to the area of Paseo Padre Parkway and Waugh Pl. on the report of a pedestrian down in the roadway.
When officers arrived they found an adult male subject lying in the northbound lanes of Paseo Padre Parkway. Sadly the male was immediately determined deceased by our first responders.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene prior to our arrival. At this time we have no information regarding the suspect vehicle or driver. We are currently looking for video in the area that may help with this investigation.
Both directions of Paseo Padre Parkway, between Decoto Rd. and Isherwood Dr. were closed until approximately 12:00 p.m. The Alameda County Coroner responded and took custody of the body. They will be investigating the cause of death. The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of family.
The Fremont Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating the fatal collision.
