Warrant Arrest
Officer Haugh conducted a traffic stop on a black 2002 Acura TL with no plates at Auto Mall/Christy.  One of the occupants, a 31 year old adult male, was arrested for warrants.

#001 Unattended Death – Coroner’s Case
Officers were dispatched to the Royal Pines Apartments on the report of an unresponsive 28 year old male.  Officers arrived on scene and began CPR.  Shortly thereafter, Fremont Fire arrived and took over life-saving attempts but were unable to resuscitate the subject.  There was no evidence of a crime.  The Coroner was contacted and responded to the scene. 

#004 Unattended Death – Coroner’s Case
Officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Stevenson on the report of an unresponsive 26 year old male.  Despite lifesaving efforts, Fremont Fire pronounced him deceased. There was no evidence of a crime. The Coroner was contacted and responded to the scene. 

#028 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Officers were dispatched to Denny’s Mowry regarding a transient with a gas can setting wood on fire creating a flame about five feet in height. Officer Paiva located a 30 year old adult male and a 37 year old adult male, both sitting around the fire. trying to stay warm. The 30 year old was on searchable probation and arrested for being in possession of drug paraphernalia (meth pipe). He was transported to and booked at the Fremont Jail.

#030 Assault with a Deadly Weapon
At 11:18 p.m., officers responded to the Gurdwara (300 block of Gurdwara Rd.) on the report of a stabbing with a ceremonial knife. It was determined that an argument occurred between two men at the temple. During the argument, a 50 year old adult male (Union City resident), took a knife out and slashed at the victim causing minor injury to his head. The male was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and transported to Santa Rita Jail. The victim refused medical treatment.

#003 Public Intoxication Arrest
At 1:08 a.m., an employee at the Konaseema Kitchen (39000 block of Paseo Padre) called to report a transient male causing a disturbance in the restaurant.  A 56 year old adult male was arrested by Officer Macciola for being drunk in public. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail.

#001 Residential Burglary
At 11:24 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 37700 block of Farwell Drive on the report of a possible prowler.  The reporting party told officers that she heard her doorbell ring. When she initially looked out the window she didn’t see anyone.  She then looked out a different window and saw five juveniles running around outside and then go over her fence.  She could hear tampering with a window and called 911.  Right after she heard glass breaking in the back of the house, officers knocked on her front door.  Officers and K9 were utilized to search the residence and yard.  Muddy footprints were located inside the home and as well as a shattered window. The suspects were not located and no items were removed from the residence. A CSI responded to help process the scene and recover physical evidence. Case under investigation.

#020 DUI Arrest 
At 3:58 p.m., Officer Gregory was in the area of Fremont Blvd and Decoto Rd. when information was broadcast over the radio that a community member had called in a vehicle that was swerving across the roadway.  Almost immediately after the information came out, the truck was spotted traveling southbound on Fremont Blvd.  Officer Gregory caught up to the vehicle and watched as the truck crossed into the bicycle lane and then drifted into the far left lane.  After watching three separate violations occur, a traffic stop was initiated.  After submitting to a field sobriety test and a preliminary alcohol screening test, the 44 year old male driver was arrested for DUI.

#016 Drug and Resisting Arrest
Officer Forsberg attempted to conduct a pedestrian stop on a bicyclist near the area of Fremont/Paseo Padre Pkwy, but the bicyclist decided to evade the stop.  Moments later, Officer Forsberg located the 53 year old adult male on foot and successfully detained him.  Officer Forsberg arrested the male for resisting arrest and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

#008 DUI Hit and Run Crash/Arrest
Officers were dispatched to the area of Ardenwood/Commerce on the report of a vehicle accident where the suspect vehicle fled the scene.  A witness followed the suspect vehicle but lost it in the area.  The witness later saw the suspect driver running in the area.  Officer Crow located and detained the suspect, identified as an 18 year old adult male.  After some investigation, Officer Crow arrested the male for DUI and Hit and Run. 

#019 Suspended Driver’s License Arrest
Officer Degenstein conducted a traffic stop in the area of Fremont Boulevard and Walnut Avenue and arrested/cited a 37 year old adult male for driving on a suspended license.

#024 Public  Intoxication and Resisting Arrest
As a patrol officer drove by Monument Park, an adult male began cursing at him. Officer Latimer suspected he was drunk in public based on his behavior, slurred speech, and an open bottle of vodka behind him. He continued to threaten physical harm when the officer made contact. As the officer was speaking to the male, he turned around and began walking toward the vodka bottle while ignoring the commands to stop. During the investigation, officers took the 50 year old male into custody for being drunk in public and for resisting arrest.

#023 Resisting Arrest
A security guard reported a transient male trespassing on the property of a business on Reliance Way. Officers responded and detained an adult male.  The male was uncooperative and would not identify himself. During a search and while attempting to remove a wallet from his pants, the male grabbed onto the officer’s fingers.  The 32 year old male was arrested for resisting arrest and transported to Santa Rita Jail. The officers sustained no injuries as a result of the incident.

001, 002 Hit and Run, Obstructing/Resisting
At 11:03 p.m., reporting party called to after a black hatchback vehicle collided with her car while on Stevenson Blvd. The driver of the black hatchback refused to stop and entered northbound I880. The reporting party followed and updated dispatch with information that the car was an Acura.  The driver of the Acura stopped in the area of Santiago and Vincente. The driver then fled on foot southbound down Santiago. Officers quickly arrived on scene and observed the same subject hopping fences. A large perimeter was established and a search was conducted via K9, yard to yard, and UAV deployment.  The terrain is made up of a large open field, a tree nursery, and canal. The subject was not located but additional follow up is underway. 

#003 Stolen Vehicle
At 12:04 a.m., Officer Paiva responded to a report of a stolen sweeper truck in the area of Nobel Dr. and Auto Mall Parkway. The reporting party stated two suspects jumped into his truck, then drove away. GPS on the stolen struck showed it in San Jose. SJPD responded to the area and recovered the truck in the 5500 block of Sean Circle in San Jose. Suspects could not be located.  Additional follow up to be
conducted by Ofc. Paiva.

#005, 006 Hit and Run, Public Intoxication and Marijuana for Sales
Officers responded to the area of Fremont Bl. and Grimmer Bl. on the report of a rear-end vehicle collision between involving two cars. The driver of the vehicle that was rear ended, parked his car and fled the scene. The “possible” driver of the second involved vehicle, denied being the driver and stated he was only a passenger. He was arrested for public intoxication. A search of the vehicle revealed a large quantity of marijuana and US currency. He was also arrested for being in possession of marijuana for sales. An area check was conducted to locate the driver of the rear ended vehicle with negative results. A check of his home and local hospitals also proved to be unsuccessful. Case investigated by Officer DeStefano.

#010 Trespassing
Officers responded to the Gurdwara on the report of an unknown male who began arguing with parishioners. The male then locked himself in the men’s room. Officers arrived on scene and detained the 45 year old adult male. A trespass notice was issued and he was escorted off campus. Case investigated by Officer Higgins.
