#009 Outside Assist
FPD and FFD units responded to an ACE commuter train that collided with a truck on the tracks between Stevenson and Automall Pkwy.  The driver of the truck was pronounced deceased on scene and no passengers on the ACE train were reported to be injured.  The collision investigation is being conducted by Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR).

#030 Robbery (Estes)
A loss prevention officer at Safeway (Hub location) attempted to detain a shoplifter who tried to steal approximately $150 worth of merchandise.  The shoplifter, later identified as a 27 year old adult female, pushed the loss prevention officer to get away, changing the theft to a robbery.  The loss prevention followed the suspect until officers could detain her.   She was arrested and transported to Santa Rita Jail.

#031 Commercial Burglary
Officers responded to a commercial burglary that occurred during the prior night at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Mission Falls Lane.  Suspect(s) forced entry through the front door of the business and stole a television valued at $800.  Investigated by CSO Tsai.

#043 Missing Person
At approximately 7:10 p.m., family members called to report their 38 year old sister misisng.  She left the house in the morning around 11:00 a.m. to go for a walk and she had not returned.  They last spoke to her around 3:00 p.m.  Officers responded to take the report.  CSO Tsai called Huang’s cell phone.  She answered her phone and she said she was lost.  An emergency ping was conducted and it showed she was at Central Park.  Officers drove through the park and they were unable to locate her.   Officer Perry called FFD to respond with the drone and a NIXLE message was sent out. Officers were not able to locate her.  At 2:30 a.m. the reporting party called to tell us their sister had been located in Berkeley and no further assistance was needed.

#001 and 002 Home Invasion and Home Invasion Attempt
We are investigating two incidents that occurred last night approximately one hour apart in the north end of town. The first incident was a robbery that occurred in the 36100 block of Cabrillo Drive.  A male victim was sitting in his vehicle at about 11:05 a.m. when a suspect approached and pointed a pistol at him. The suspect demanded the victim’s wallet, iPhone and cash.  Two other males were with the suspect at the time, possibly acting as lookouts.  The suspect tried to enter the victim’s residence; however a family member who was inside thought it was suspicious and refused to answer the door.  The suspect attempted to kick down the front door, but was not successful.  They likely got spooked by something and left abruptly.

The second incident was a home invasion robbery in the 4600 block of Rousillon Ave (Ardenwood area).  A husband and wife arrived home from work and parked their vehicle, occupied by their young sleeping child, in the garage.  While the garage was still open, three suspects approached them.  Two of the men were armed with handguns.  The suspects demanded their wallet, phone and keys.  The suspects then ordered the victims into the residence.   The male victim was pistol whipped to the face several times.  The female victim was also struck; however, she had no visible injuries.  The suspects ransacked the residence and then fled on foot in an unknown direction.   The victims estimated the suspects were in the residence for approximately 10-15 minutes.  Loss was the victim’s wallet, iPhone, keys to their vehicle and home, jewelry, and laptop computers.  The child was left sleeping in the vehicle the entire time and was uninjured.  The male victim sought medical treatment at a local hospital for his injuries. The suspects were described as either three black or Hispanic male adults.  All were wearing dark clothing. No vehicle was seen.

We are looking into whether these are connected.  Detectives were assigned to investigate and have been conducting follow up today.
