Cold water was passed out to community members on this very hot day. 

#012 Resist Arrest/ Warrant Arrest
At 11:20 a.m., Officer Balcorta and FTO Singh conducted a security check at the Centerville Train Depot for a wanted male who had an outstanding warrant.   Officers see the 32 year old adult male near the tracks off Baine. The male became aware of officers and fled on a bike. He dumped the bike and fled on foot near the church at Hansen/Dusterberry. A perimeter was quickly set up and a K9 Search team assembled. Fremont Fire responded within minutes with the drone. A search was conducted and the male was located hiding within the perimeter. He was arrested for theft, appropriation of lost property, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and a failure to appear warrant.

#010/011 Suspicious Circumstances and Mental Health Evaluation
Officer Lastrape was dispatched to a hotel in south Fremont regarding a wandering intoxicated female only dressed on in bathrobe. The female was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. During follow up at the hospital, the female made statements of wanting to harm herself. Officer Lastrape placed her on a hold for further mental health evaluation. 

#015 Shoplifting
Target (Hub) security detained a 60 year old adult female for shoplifting after she walked out of the store with several bags of items which she claimed she “thought” she paid for.  Officer Berrier responded and cited the female for shoplifting.

#001 Vehicle Code Violations
The street racers returned to the south part of town and Zone 3 officers mobilized.  Officer Paiva caught one and arrested an adult male, San Jose resident for a VC violation.  The rest sped off south towards Milpitas.

#032 Suspicious Circumstance/Gun Call - Unfounded
At 6:42 p.m., dispatch received a call from an reporting party stating he could see a male on the east side of Paseo Padre pointing what appeared to be a rifle with a scope towards Paseo Padre traffic.  Officers responded to the 34300 block of Dobson Way and set up a perimeter. With the use of the Bearcat contact was made at the residence with two males standing outside the home.  The two males were compliant as were all other occupants in the residence.  During the investigation it was determined an adult male was showing some family members and a neighbor a rifle in the backyard.  Everyone was compliant and no crime was committed.  The incident was documented by Officer Perry.  Fremont Fire was also called out for the use of the drone. 

#030 Outside Assist – Medical Call of a Drowning
Dispatch received a call from a male at an address on Ashton Pl saying his friend had drowned in the pool.  Officer Berrier arrives on scene first and provides first aid CPR and uses the AED.  FFD arrives a short time later and provides medical aid for at least 30 minutes before pronouncing the 37 year old male deceased.  It’s believed that the victim suffered from a medical emergency while in the deep end of the swimming pool and drowns. 

#028 Occupied Stolen Vehicle
Dispatch receives a call from a LoJack employee who is getting a hit from a car parked in the Extended Stay on Farwell Pl.  The car is a stolen vehicle from Hayward.  A felony car stop is made and a 30 year old adult male is taking into custody.

Sgt. Crandall handed out water to several people hanging out at the Ghost House at the Hub. 

#033 Hit and Run Collision/Arrest
A felony hit and run occurred at Farwell and Mowry.  A father and his toddler son were injured in the collision.  The suspect fled southbound to the Chevron and then foot bailed into the Best Western.  A perimeter was established and K9 Officer J. Kennedy began a trail with K9 Blaze.  While Blaze was hot on the trail, K9 Officer Layfield spotted a person matching the suspect description get into a cab in the southeast corner of Mowry East.  A female was detained and determined to be the driver of the suspect vehicle.  She was arrested for the hit and run. 

#004/006 Hit and Run Property Damage
At 1:07 a.m., a lifted Chevy Z71 did a bumper car maneuver down Roberts Ave damaging several vehicles and coming to rest in the Roberts Lane Townhomes.  The driver and passengers fled prior to our arrival.  During the investigation, Officer De Stefano located the passenger who would not provide any pertinent information about the collision.  He was arrested on unrelated charges (Under the Influence) by Officer Layfield.  Follow-up is being conducted by Officer De Stefano.

#007 Carjacking/Assault with a Deadly Weapon
At 3:35 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 40600 block of Fremont Blvd on the report of a carjacking.  The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and tried to drive away.  The victim attempted to stop him by crawling through the open driver window.  He fell out and was struck by the vehicle as it fled.  The victim was transported to a trauma center for treatment.  The suspect was described as a white male adult, 18-22 years old w/ a buzz cut.  The 2010 Lexus CA Lic #6NEG799 is still outstanding.  Investigated by Officer Koehler.

#032 Evading
At 4:11 p.m., Sgt. Zambonin attempted to stop a small motorcycle with no plates riding beside another motorcycle near Fremont Blvd and Decoto Rd.  One stopped and one evaded.  Sgt. Zambonin located suspect information and identified the driver.  He later contacted the 23 year old adult male driver and issued him a citation.

#031 Robbery
At 3:49 p.m., officers were dispatched to Safeway in Warm Springs for an attempted robbery.  Two suspects utilized three bags to steal alcohol.  A clerk followed the suspects to the parking lot and confronted the suspects near the suspect vehicle.  The female suspect punched the clerk in the face and then fled with the male suspect in a 2004-2005 Gold Lexus sedan with white paper plates.  Estimated loss is over $1000 in alcohol.  Case investigated by Officer Gigliotti.

#008 DUI Arrest
At 2:02 a.m., Officer O’Neal noticed a vehicle driving northbound on I880 near Automall Pkwy with 4 flat tires.  Thinking something amiss, he initiated a vehicle stop and arrested a 20 year old adult male, who only had a driver’s permit, for DUI.  Thanks to CHP for the traffic break and assistance.

#041 Strong-Arm Robbery
At 9:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to a late reported strong arm robbery.  The suspect attempted to rip the chain off of a male victim near an apartment complex in the 39600 block of Fremont Blvd.  The victim followed the suspect and recovered part of the chain.  The suspect was last seen entering a white 4-door sedan after the brief chase.  Investigated by Officer Latimer.

#006 DUI Collision
At 12:50 a.m., officers responded to a bar on Peralta Bl. for a vehicle vs pedestrian collision.  After the very minor collision, the bar patrons turned on the driver and forced him to flee down Peralta.  Officer Sun found the driver who was cooperative.  The 26 year old adult male was found to be under the influence and arrested for DUI.  Officer Koehler handled the crash and Officer Sun took the DUI report.

#015 Warrant Arrests
At 8:58 a.m., Officer Haugh sees a 32 year old adult male on Mildred Dr. who has an active felony warrant.  The male sees Officer Haugh and runs into a house.  Units established a perimeter and contacted the rest of the family at the front door of the residence.  The male was located hiding in a shed in his backyard along with his friend, a 35 year old adult male who also had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest.  Both went to jail.

#022 Missing Person
At approximately 5:23 p.m., we received a report of a 75 year old female who was determined to be at-risk missing due to a medical condition.  It was estimated that she had been missing since3:30 p.m.  FFD responded with the drone, Officer Kennedy responded with his tracking dog, numerous officers responded to check the area and a Nixle message was sent out.  At approximately 6:46 p.m. the missing female was located near Spin a Yarn.

#003 Under the Influence Arrest
At 3:14 a.m., officers responded to a restaurant in the area of Mowry/Farwell on the report of a patron annoying customers.  Officer De Stefano contacted the female and arrested her for being under the influence.

#005/006 Vandalism/Mental Health Evaluation
At 5:07 a.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a male breaking out the windows at a pizza restaurant in the 46700 block of Mission Blvd with chairs and tables.  Officers found an adult male nearby who was positively identified as the suspect.  The male yelled and refused to obey commands and continued to scream “no” as he advanced towards officers.  With Tasers drawn, he complied and officers detained the male. He was sent for mental evaluation prior to booking.  Three windows were damaged, with an estimated value of $1500.00.  The business owner did not want to pursue criminal charges. The case was forwarded to the DA for charges of resisting and obstructing a peace officer.
