Detencion en el rodaje de la muerte de 23 anos residente en Pomona

CRIME: 187 PC – Homicide
VICTIM: Joseph Ellis Aguilar, 23 years old, Pomona resident
SUSPECT: Timothy James McKinney, 19 year-old Rancho Cucamonga resident
UNIT: Investigative Services Division – Homicide Unit
NARRATIVE: On Friday, June 16, 2017, victim Joseph Ellis Aguilar was shot and killed while at a family party at 595 E. McKinley Ave. The investigation led to the identity and whereabouts of suspect Timothy McKinney. The Pomona Police Department SWAT Team, with the assistance of the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Task Force and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant in the 9000 block of Shadowbrook Dr, in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was transported to the Pomona Police Department Jail Facility where he was booked for 187 PC – Homicide. His bail was set at 2 million dollars.

NARRATIVE: On June 16, 2017 at approximately 11:45 PM, a family party was interrupted when a fight broke out at 595 E. McKinley Ave. During the fight, person(s) unknown produced a firearm and shot victim Aguilar fatally wounding him. Pomona Police and Los Angeles County Fire personnel performed life saving measures and transported the victim to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. Additional medical help was unsuccessful. He was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving.
Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and are currently conducting the investigation. Little is known at this time. Updates will be released as they become available.
