Incidents 344 Reports 38

 

#012 Stolen Vehicle

A reporting party/victim confronted a male who was attempting to drill out the ignition of his Chevy Silverado.  The suspect ran and the victim observed him getting into the passenger seat of an older primer gray Dodge Ram 1500, driven by a female.   Officer Butcher spots a vehicle matching the description near Bay and Papazion, which is occupied by a male passenger and female driver.  Officer Butcher follows the vehicle until it eventually comes to rest near Fremont Blvd and Washington Blvd.  A high risk stop was conducted ending in with the positive identification/arrest of the male and female.  A loaded firearm was located and seized during a search of the suspects vehicle.

 

#013 Chain Snatch Robbery 

While numerous officers were tied up with the above listed detail, a strong arm robbery occurred on the 3200 block of Trafalgar Road.  The victim was out walking with her juvenile daughter when she was approached by an unknown suspect, who exited a green vehicle, and asked for directions.  Immediately upon distracting the victim, she was pushed to the ground and her gold chain and pendant were forcefully ripped from her neck.  The victim provided the below listed description of the suspect and a witness provided the description of the vehicle.

 

Suspect – Black male adult,  20-30 years old, approximately 6’1”, thin build and no facial hair.   He was last seen wearing light colored blue jeans that were torn.   

 

Suspect Vehicle - Late 90’s dark green Buick La Saber.  

 

#034 Promiscuous Shooting

At 9:49 p.m., multiple reporting parties called concerning  gun shots in the area of Bidwell / Bissy Cmn.  A further investigation finds that a shooting occurred on the mid-block of Trinity Wy and several shell casings were found.  A possible vehicle involved may be a black sedan with a chrome grill.   An area search found no victims or property damage.  Video from a home in the area is being looked into.  

 

#029 & 032 Mental Health Evaluation 

Officers are called to one of our local hospitals concerning a male who was causing a disturbance.  After reviving medical attention earlier in the day, he was released but refused to leave.   When officers went to assist him off the property he took a swing at one of our officers.  When officers attempted to take him to Santa Rita in the Transport,  he refused to get in and attempted to punch officers again.  Ultimately, he was admitted back into a hospital for a mental health evaluation.   A misdemeanor complaint will be forwarded to the DDA.  

 

#036 Possession of Narcotics

Officer Johnson conducted a pedestrian stop behind Motel 6 north and contacted a 39 year old adult male.  The male was cited for possession of narcotics.

#005 Found Weapon

A community member reported a handgun in the bushes of Automall Parkway near the railroad tracks.   The firearm was reported stolen in a 2016 residential burglary.  The owner was contacted. 

 

#018 Traffic Collision

At 12:39 p.m., Sgt. Morrison observed a green Ford Mustang driving recklessly near Davis St / Grimmer Blvd.  He investigated the matter and located the vehicle, which had crashed nearby.  The 33 year old adult male driver surrendered without incident and was arrested for several charges.  

 

#023 Commercial Burglary 

Suspects broke into the Irvington High School cafeteria and student union.  They took one surveillance camera and disconnected four others.  Investigated by CSO Schwartz.

 

#028 Missing At-Risk Adult

Officer Haugh was flagged down near the PD at about 3:15 p.m.  The caller advised her mother had been missing since 10:45 a.m.  A Nixle alert was sent out and an organized search was started where she was last seen at the Centerville Community Park.  At 4:40 p.m., a community member who subscribes to Nixle, called dispatch and advised he saw a female who fit the description of the missing female on Paseo Padre Pkwy near Whitehead Ln.  FPD units confirm it was the missing female and she was returned home.    

 

#035,036 Pursuit/ Hit and Run

At about 9:11 p.m.,  Officer J. Harvey was in the area of Farwell Dr/Brophy Dr when he saw a van that fit the description of a reported stolen vehicle.  Officer Harvey turned around to get behind the van, and it sped away southbound on Farwell Dr.  A pursuit was initiated by Ofc. Harvey, but quickly terminated.  Approximately ten seconds after the pursuit was cancelled, Officer Harvey located the van near Farwell Dr and Farwell Pl.  The van had collided with several parked vehicles and the suspect was last seen running W/B on Farwell Dr.  An injured passenger was trapped inside the van.   A large perimeter was set up and at 10:01 p.m., the suspect was located hiding inside The Country Way restaurant underneath a dish washing table in the kitchen area.  The 33 year old suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.  

 

#038 Vandalism

Officers were dispatched to the Saddle Rack regarding an intoxicated male who damaged a vehicle in the parking lot.  A 33 year

old adult male was is arrested for public intoxication and vandalism by Officer Soper.

 

 

#002 DUI Arrest

A call of a traffic collision came in in the area of Stevenson Blvd / Stevenson Pl. A 26 year old adult male disabled his vehicle after colliding with the center divide. He is arrested by Officer Oliveira for DUI.

#009 Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest

At 9:47 a.m., FPD Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call from inside an apartment on the 800 block of Mowry Ave.  Family members inside the apartment indicated that another family member was breaking things inside the home and had struck one member with an object.  FPD Officers arrived within four minutes and found a victim with a severe laceration to his head.  The rest of the family members, including a child were evacuated from the apartment.   A perimeter was established and further resources called in because the suspect refused to come out of the apartment.  Officer Richards tried to negotiate with the suspect but he refused to cooperate nor give up.   Eventually a canine was sent into the apartment and the suspect was arrested.   

 

#034 Strong Arm Robbery

Officers investigated a strong arm robbery at about 9:40 p.m., on the 4200 block of Peregrine Wy.  The victims arrived home and while inside their garage they are assaulted by suspects.  The suspects take the car keys and house key..  Both Suspects are described as black male juveniles, approximately 15-16 years old and both had dark color hoodies on.  The suspect vehicle was a newer model black Honda Accord with paper plates. 

 

#001 Warrant Arrest 

At 2:23 a.m., FPD dispatch received a call from a resident on Manitoba Tr. who stated that a male broke into their residence while they were sleeping. The reporting party said they recognized the male as a neighbor, but that he had no reason to be in their home at such an early hour. Officers made contact with the 32 year old adult male as he exited the home and learn that he entered the residence to ask if he could spend the night there for unknown reasons.  The family declined to press charges, but the male was arrested for an active vandalism warrant. Investigated by Officer Wong.

#002 Commercial Burglary 

The owner of Mission Pizza arrived at the store today to find the safe had been stolen.  The alarm went off at 5:44 a.m., and video surveillance showed an older black 4-door sedan with a spoiler in the lot.  A possible suspect was described as a white male adult average height and build, wearing a black hoodie and jeans.  Loss was a small gun safe containing personal papers.  Investigated by CSO Schwartz.

 

#005 Auto Burglary 

Officer Han followed up on a Auto Burglary  he was investigating and stopped a possible suspect near DecotoRd/Cabrillo Ct.  The 28 year old adult male suspect was interviewed and confessed to the auto burglary.  

 

#013 Warrant Arrest

Officers responded to the area of Hampshire Wy. after a resident reported a male tried to open her front door and then walked away after finding it locked.  A 65 year old adult male was contacted and arrested by Officer Richards for an outstanding misdemeanor bench warrant.

 

#019 Warrant Arrest

FPD units are dispatched to the KFC in Centerville concerning a disturbance between a customer and KFC staff.  Officers contacted a 35 year old adult male who had a felony warrant for failure to appear.   The male was arrested by Officer Harvey and taken to Santa Rita Jail for booking.

 

#001 Unfounded Shooting Incident

At 11:45 p.m., FPD dispatch received a call from a resident at the Waterstone Apartments. The caller stated that a male was standing near the center divide on Fremont Blvd. firing a gun. The caller said that after shooting several rounds towards an unknown direction, the male was picking up the expended shell casings from the ground.  Officers respond with lights and siren and locate the male still standing on the center divide. He was detained without incident. It turns out the male was in fact a contractor installing a speed measuring device with the use of a nail gun. While he was working, several fireworks were going off in the area possibly leading the callers confusion in what they saw and heard. The shooting was unfounded. 

 

#002 Attempt Burglary Arrest

Just as units were clearing the above call, a resident on Logan Dr. called to report that an unknown person was trying to enter their home by breaking a rear window. The caller believed they had scared the suspect off and was waiting towards the front of their home for officers to arrive. Officer Davis entered the residence to speak with the reporting party and noticed a male, still in the backyard after looking through a rear glass slider. The male attempted to avoid being detected by sitting perfectly still on patio chair in the yard. His “hiding in plain-view” technique did not work and he was detained at gunpoint. Officers find that the 20 year old male had attempted to make entry into the home by smashing a rear window using a shovel. The male was arrested for attempt burglary. Nice spot by Ofc. Davis. 

 

A number of firework calls were reported throughout the city related to the Warriors Championship.
