#009 Felon in Possession of a Firearm
At 7:28 a.m., Officer Stiers responded to a suspicious person call and stopped a 54 year old adult male in the area of Hopkins Ave and Norfolk Rd.  The male was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, and other related charges.

#008 Commercial Burglary
CSO Romero investigated a commercial burglary in the 4800 block of Hannover Pl. The suspects pried open a metal door and took about $1,000 in copper pipe and two chop saws.

#020 Residential Burglary
At 1:15 p.m., Officer Blanchet investigated a residential burglary in the 33900 block of Shylock Dr.  The residents came home to find the sliding glass door pried open and the side gate lock and hinge were torn from the wood by force. 

#023 Assault with a Deadly Weapon
At 2:33 p.m., officers responded to the area of Darwin Dr. and Chaucer Dr. on the report of several people including juveniles in a fight and reportedly using bats and pepper spray.  Officers and SROs responded.  Most of the parties fled prior to PD arrival.   Officers located an adult female victim who was suffering from injuries to her head and face.  The victim told officers that earlier in the day several juveniles had gotten into an altercation at school.  A parent of one of the involved juveniles, later identified as a 37 year old female, came to the victim’s residence after school to confront her.  During the confrontation, the suspect punched the victim several times while she was standing and on the ground.  The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.   Officers made contact with the suspect, who initially refused to come outside or open the door for officers.  Later in the afternoon the suspect called to report several people from the group, including a male with a handgun were trying to confront her.  Several people were detained; however, no firearm was located.  In the end, the suspect is arrested for battery and booked at the Fremont Jail.  Case investigated by Officer Blanchet with an assist from SRO Candler.

#034 Indecent Exposure
Officers were dispatched to the 5200 block of Silver Reef Dr. on a report of a prowler.  A victim reported a male exposed himself at the window in her rear yard.  Suspect was described as a white male wearing a dark t-shirt. 

#037, 040, 041, 042, 002
The midnight shift got hit with multiple auto burglaries throughout the city from Planet Fitness, 24Hr Fitness (Automall Pkwy), and Patterson Ranch Rd.  The suspect vehicle is possibly a late model silver van occupied by two black females, one in a hoody and the other with dreadlocks.  The cases are being investigated by Officer Burch, Officer Layfield and Officer Cavaz.

#025 and #026 Possession of a Controlled Substance Arrest
Officer Carter and Officer Scherer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 28 year old adult male for false registration.  Officer Scherer arrested a 33 year old adult male for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  The 33 year old also had a no bail warrant and an additional misdemeanor warrant for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

#023 Health and Safety code Violation
Officer Montojo was dispatched to the Southlake Mobile Home Park regarding a female who was trespassing.  Officer Montojo located the female and she was subsequently arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing.  She was transported to Santa Rita Jail.

#030 Petty Theft, Resisting Arrest and Warrants
Target security called to report a male in his 30’s had just stolen a bicycle from the store.  He was wearing a black jacket, black hat, dark colored pants and he was last seen on Capitol Ave near Fremont Blvd.  Sgt. McCormick heard the incident and description of the suspect.  He was in the area of Paseo Padre Pkwy and Capitol Ave, when he saw the suspect crossing the intersection.  Sgt. McCormick followed the suspect who continued to ride into the Washington West parking lot.  Sgt. McCormick attempted to stop the suspect, but he sped off on the bike.  The suspect dropped the bike and ran into the backdoor of La Pinata Restaurant.  Sgt. McCormick chased the suspect through the restaurant and into the parking lot.  Sgt. McCormick caught up to the suspect as he attempted to hide inside a utility closet.  The suspect came out and Sgt. McCormick took him into custody.  The suspect was identified as a 34 year old adult male and positively identified by Target security as the subject who stole the bike.  He was arrested for the bike theft and resisting a police officer.  The male also had 2-active warrants. 

#031 Robbery
At 6:15 p.m., two unknown suspects entered the AT&T store on the 46000 block of Warm Springs Blvd.  One of the suspects brandished a handgun and pointed it at an employee. The second suspect tied up the employee and placed him in a room.  The suspects stole approximately 20 phones and cash, with the loss reported to be approximately $15,000.  At approximately 7:01 p.m., a male called dispatch and reported that he noticed a male tied on the ground inside the AT&T store, who was talking through the door and had just been robbed.  Officers arrived on scene and had to force entry due to all of the doors being locked.  Officers checked the business and helped the victim.  He was checked out by paramedics, but did not require further medical attention.  Case investigated by Officer Montojo. 

Suspect #1 – Possibly Hispanic male adult, 5’05” tall, black hoodie armed with a black semi-auto handgun.
Suspect #2 – White male adult, muscular build, clean shaven last seen wearing a white painters suit with no paint on it. 
 
#020 Mental Health Evaluation
A citizen called to report a male subject down in the roadway.  Officers arrived and located a bicyclist.  When the officers asked him to walk his bike on the sidewalk, he told the officers he wanted them to harm him.  The subject was placed on a mental health evaluation hold.  Case investigated by Officer Richards.

Two additional mental health evaluations were sought during the day.

#018 Suspended License
Officer Liu conducted a vehicle stop and cited a 24 year old adult male, Newark resident, for driving on a suspended license. 

#012 Robbery
A victim called police after he was confronted by a 25 year old Hayward resident, who threatened him with a knife near the Safeway at the Hub.  During the altercation the suspect stole the victim’s cell phone and fled the scene on foot.  Officers responded to the area.  The suspect was located, detained and subsequently arrested.  Case investigated by Officer Dennis.

#049 Ascertain the Problem – Gun Call
Two males were walking in the parking lot of Whole Foods when a passerby saw one of the males “flash” what appeared to be the butt of a gun towards a vehicle.   The caller further described it did not appear to be a brandishing, but the male was simply showing it to his friend.  A good description of the male was given and a short time Officer J. Roberts located two males matching the description provided.  They were both detained a subsequent searched revealed the gun. However it turned out to be an airsoft gun.  The male was determined to be a juvenile and he was released to his mother.

#047 Battery
At approximately 1900 hours an RP called to report that he was just attacked by a man.  The suspect hit the victim on the hand with a bicycle causing injuries.  The suspect was later located and detained close to the original scene.  In in-field line up was conducted and he was positively identified as a 44 year old Fremont resident.  Officer T. Roberts took the report.

#046 Shoplifting
At approximately 6:00 p.m., officers were called to Lucky’s at Charter Square to investigate a shoplifting case.  Officer Godrich arrested a 53 year old adult male Fremont resident for shoplifting.

#045 Mental Health Evaluation
Officers were called to the Fremont Jail to because an inmate was acting violent and requesting help.  Two sergeants arrive and begin setting up for a possible cell extraction.  Sergeant Baca talked the inmate into calmly giving up without incident and he was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation. 

#002 Possession of Burglary Tools
Officer Fuellenbach conducted a stop on a 43 year old adult male who is riding a bicycle while wearing blue latex gloves in the area of Summer Holly Co. The male is found to be in possession of shaved keys and is arrested. Nice stop by Officer Fuellenbach.

#051 Ascertain the Problem - Unfounded
At 10:03 p.m., dispatch received a call of a possible in-progress burglary at a residence on Cedar St. A neighbor called to report seeing a female enter a residence and quickly run out with a large item. The female entered into a van which quickly fled the area. Believing a burglary occurred, the neighbor followed the van and gave updates as to the vehicle’s location as it proceeded northbound on Mission Blvd. Officer Oliveira located the van and a high-risk stop was conducted. In the end, the burglary was unfounded after officers checked the residence on Cedar St. The female contacted in the van explained she lived at the residence and was in a hurry grabbing items as she rushed out of the home.  A young child who was also in the van had some excitement after being greeted by the officers at the stop and walked away with a few new officer friends and Jr. Officer sticker badges for his trouble.
