Free Booster Seat Giveaway and Family Fair

Time:  10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Location:  American High School
36300 Fremont Blvd., Fremont CA (please enter from Alder Avenue)

Join event organizers this Saturday for a day of fun at a free booster seat giveaway, family informational fair and BBQ lunch.

On Saturday, April 16, 2016, event organizers plan to give away approximately 350-400 new vehicle booster seats to children in Alameda County.  The event is free and open to the public and will include a free BBQ lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and entertainment (i.e. music, bouncy house, bubble show, face painting, etc).

To be eligible for a free booster seat, the parent/guardian must provide proof of Alameda County residency and the existing safety seat must be either outgrown, outdated, or in rare instances, not present due to lack of means. Both the child and the vehicle must also be present to be eligible. Booster seats, both of the high-back and backless varieties, accommodating children weighing approximately 30 lbs to 100 lbs and measuring approximately 37 inches to 57 inches in height, will be available. Boosters will be distributed on a first come, first served basis and only available while supplies last.

Certified staff will be on hand to provide FREE booster seat checks for those concerned about the proper installation of new and/or condition of existing child safety seats.

The event will also include an information fair offering details and programs geared towards Fremont area youth and families. Representatives will be present to answer questions and assist with enrollment when necessary.

Hosted by: Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty in partnership with Safe Kids Alameda County, Fremont Police Department, and California Highway Patrol, with support from AEG, Alameda County Emergency Medical Services, Blaylock Beal Van, LLC, Bernardin Family McDonald's and the Office of Assemblyman Bill Quirk.
