Incidents 242 Reports 41

#017 Outside Assist

At 12:34 p.m., an intoxicated female on an AC Transit bus threw a bottle at the driver.  The bus driver called ACSO who contacted FPD to assist. Citizens advised officers that the female exited the bus and was running through traffic and banging on vehicles in the area of Mission and Mojave.  The female then ran into a nearby retail clothing store. Officers arrive on scene and contact the female who is combative and kicks officers.  The 56 year old adult female, Modesto resident, was arrested and transported to Santa Rita Jail for battery, battery on a peace officer and resisting arrest.  The officers and bus driver were not injured.

#033 Destructive Device 

At approximately 4:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a possible explosive device in the 37000 block of Third St. in Niles.  Officers learn that a gardener located a coconut in the front yard of a residence that was filled with black powder and had a fuse sticking out of it.  The gardener removed the fuse and placed the coconut in a plastic bag before calling the PD.  The ACSO Bomb Squad responded and neutralized the explosive device, causing a loud noise that could be heard throughout the neighborhood.  Officer Gigliotti and FTO Loughery are investigating.

#034 Under the Influence Arrest

At 6:09 p.m., Officer Crow and FTO N. Johnson were dispatched to an incident on the 35400 block of Ratto Place.  Officers made contact with a 49 year old adult female, Fremont resident who was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance.  She is arrested and booked into the Fremont Jail.

#043 Armed Robbery

At approximately 11:30 p.m., Officer Oliveira was dispatched to an armed robbery at P.F. Chang’s on the 43300 block of Christy Street .  A lone male entered the restaurant, while it was open, and committed an armed robbery with a handgun.  The loss was cash.  Investigation is continuing. The suspects was described as a Black male in his mid 20's, 5'08", 150 lbs.  He was Last seen wearing a dark green puffy hooded jacket, blue jeans, white shoes and a white or tan cloth covering his nose and mouth.

#002 Resisting Arrest

About 12:10 a.m., a report of a subject similar in description to the above armed robbery was walking on Automall Pkwy, near Grimmer.  Officer Forseberg checked the area and attempted a pedestrian stop, near the 24 Hour fitness.   The male was not involved in the robbery, but was on probation and did not obey Officer Forseberg’s lawful orders and was arrested for resisting an officer.

#003 Robbery Attempt/Assault

At approximately 4:30 a.m., Officer Roberts was detailed to an assault that had just occurred on Industrial Dr.   Upon contacting the victim, Officer Roberts learns it was an attempted robbery and the victim had been sprayed with a chemical weapon, then hit with a stick.  There was no loss and the suspect fled the area in a gold van.  Investigation is continuing.  This was not related to the earlier robbery.

008 Indecent Exposure

12:50 p.m., Officer Ehling investigated an indecent exposure case that occurred near a play area at Central Park near the Mammouth picnic area and playground. The suspect was described as a white male, 30-35 yrs, 190-200 lbs., 5’11” tall, medium build, with a brown clean-shaven goatee, black hoodie, black pants, and black tennis shoes. The suspect exposed himself to a man with his two young sons and stated he was going to harm them.  

#009 Theft

At 12:36 p.m., Officer Navas investigated the theft of a purse and wallet from a grocery store on the 3340 block of Mowry Ave. The victim tracked a bankcard to a restaurant, where the suspects were still present after their attempt to use the victim’s card was denied. The victim confronted the suspects, who fled before Officer Navas arrived.  The suspects are described as a black male adult wearing a grey sweater with a hood, and a black and orange scarf; and a black female with a silver tooth, large black purse, and she was wearing a black jacket and green Starbucks apron.  The suspects fled on foot westbound on Mowry Ave.

#025 Suspended License Arrest 

At 6:03 p.m., Officer Davis initiated a traffic stop in the area of Doane Street and Grimmer Blvd.  He cited the 38 year old adult female driver for driving on a suspended license.

#029 Auto Burglary

At 9:13 p.m., while patrolling on the 43000 block of Pacific Commons Blvd., Officer Hanrahan was flagged down and advised of an auto burglary that just occurred. The suspect vehicle is described as a red Mazda with three suspects inside. Officer Hanrahan locates the vehicle on Auto Mall Pkwy and it flees onto I880. A pursuit travels on northbound I880 until officers lose sight near Mowry Avenue and the pursuit is terminated. Officers next come upon a three car accident on the freeway near Thornton Avenue and locate the disabled suspect vehicle further up the road. Four suspects are seen running from the vehicle by witnesses east into Fremont. A large perimeter is set but none of the suspects are located. Multiple pieces of stolen property are found inside the Mazda. Minor civilian injuries from the accident.  

Suspect 1: Black male adult in his 20's, wearing a dark hoodie with white writing on it and a black baseball cap with red emblem.

Suspect 2: Black male adult, 30-35 years old, wearing a True Religion shirt, white shoes and curly hair.

Suspect 3: Black male adult, heavy set, wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans.

#003 DUI Arrest

Officers are dispatched to a non-injury auto collision in the area of Mowry/ Farwell. Officer Wong arrives on scene and determines one of the drivers to be intoxicated.  The male driver is arrested for DUI.   

#004 Suspended License

At 2:05 a.m. Officer Roberts and Officer Meredith are patrolling in the area of Grimmer and Blacow when they see a Mercedes Benz with no plates. Before the officers could flip around to make a stop, the Mercedes reverses approximately 50 feet to turn into the Colonial Gardens apartments.  Officer Roberts locates the subject walking away from the vehicle with a loose dog. The subject was preparing to jump the fence but changed his mind at the last minute. The 53 year old adult male is contacted and his dog is secured.  He is arrested for driving on a suspended license and obstruction/ resisting arrest.

Shoplifting

FTO Foster and Officer Birch responded to a disturbance at Food Maxx in the 39400 block of Fremont Blvd. Officer Birch learned that a male juvenile female juvenile shoplifted from Radio Shack at the Hub, then went to Food Maxx. An employee at Food Maxx recognized the female juvenile as a prior theft suspect who had been banished from the store, and tried to escort her out. The girl fought back and a third juvenile in the group punched the employee in the face. Officer Birch ended up issuing Notice to Appears (NTA's) to the two for shoplifting and the third for battery.

#034 Warrant Arrest

At 4:40 p.m., Officer Catassi arrested a 27 year old adult male, Castro Valley resident for his two misdemeanor warrants during a traffic stop at the Fremont Hub.

Community Service:

Reports of a large, unauthorized car show at Pacific Commons was advertised several weeks ago on social media. Sergeant Harvey put together an action plan that included traffic units and zone 3 patrol units flooding the area and Pacific Commons closing off their parking lots. In addition, Milpitas, Newark, Union City and CHP were notified of the event beforehand.  Several groups of vehicles arrived in the area, but quickly moved on due to the heavy police presence.  

#001 Assault Deadly Weapon

At 12:30 a.m., a victim is walking home in the area of Lexington and Monroe when he is confronted by two subjects. An altercation occurs and the victim sustained defensive stab wounds to the palms of his hands. The suspects were only described as a white male adult and a black male adult. They fled in a black SUV type vehicle.   Officer Bordy investigated.

003 Warrant Arrest

At 8:21 a.m., Officer Ehling arrested a 42 year old adult male for a warrant on the 40600 block of Fremont Blvd., during a bicycle stop.

#006 Obstructing a Police Officer

At 9:34 a.m. Officer Aranguren was monitoring traffic in Irvington when he conducted a pedestrian stop on a 39 year old adult male who was J-walking near the Farmer's Market.  The male refused to provide identification nor would he sign the citation.  He was arrested for obstructing a police officer. 

#007 Possession of Stolen Property Arrest

At 8:30 a.m., Officer Lawrence arrested a 26 year old adult female for a warrant on the 4100 block of Cushing Pkwy. Officer Lawrence found the female to be in possession of contraband and charged her with possession of stolen property and forgery.  

#008 Stolen Vehicle Recovery

At 11:06 a.m., Officer Dias located and recovered a stolen vehicle out of Newark.  It was unoccupied in the area of Fernald and Warren.

#024 Commercial Burglary

At 4:53 p.m., officers investigated a vandalism to a storage area on the 46000 block of Landing Parkway.  Security reports seeing a suspicious male in the building via video surveillance. Officers arrive and find the suspect damaged a surveillance camera and cut two locks on roll up doors. A search of that building does not locate anyone inside. A second building under construction in the area is also found to have been entered, but the suspect is not located. It appears copper was the primary target. Thank you to Newark PD for the use of their K-9 in both buildings.

#028 Unlicensed Driver

At 11:39 p.m., Officer Oliveira conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Civic Center and Walnut Ave. The driver, a 23 year old adult male, Fremont resident was arrested/cited for being an unlicensed driver.   

#003 Warrant Arrest

At 4:24 a.m., officers were dispatched to an suspicious circumstance call on the 4700 block of Ridpath with reported glass breaking. Officer Allsup arrived and contacted a 28 year old adult male who had multiple outstanding vehicle code violation warrants.  The subject is arrested and booked Fremont Jail.
