**************** 1st Update ****************

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a man that was discovered in the 13500 block of Trumball Street, unincorporated Whittier, at approximately 7:30 am, on Saturday, September 26, 2015.

Detectives have learned that Norwalk Station deputies responded to a call of an “Assault with a knife” in the 13500 block of Trumball Street, in the unincorporated area of Whittier.  Upon their arrival they discovered the victim, Tyrone Duran, a male Hispanic 43 years old, lying on the front lawn of a residence suffering from a stab wound.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to witnesses, the victim and suspect knew each other and were hanging out in front of a residence.  They began to argue, and the argument escalated into a fist fight.  Sometime during the fight the suspect stabbed the victim with a folding type knife.

It appears that the victim and suspect had been arguing over the ex-girlfriend of the suspect when the fight and stabbing occurred.

The murder weapon, a folding knife, was recovered at the scene.  The suspect was identified as George Delgado, a male Hispanic 53 years old.  He is still outstanding and not in-custody at this time.

There is no additional information at this time, and the investigation is on-going.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.  If you prefer to provide information anonymously, you may call "Crime Stoppers" by dialing (800) 222-TIPS (8477), or texting the letters TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or by using the website http://lacrimestoppers.org.
