Incidents 443 Reports 37

#007 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Arrest

At 6:36 p.m., Officer Richards investigated a person down call in the 5100 block of Mowry Ave and arrested a 35 year old adult male for possession of drug paraphernalia.

#012 Soliciting Upon an Exit Ramp

At 10:12 a.m., Officer Richards investigated a report of a man and a woman interfering with vehicle traffic near Highway 84 and Ardenwood Blvd. Officer Richards cited the 59 year old adult male for being in violation of soliciting upon the exit ramp of a freeway or highway.  

#026 Driving with a Suspended License Arrest

At 5:17 p.m., Officer Malcomson stopped and cited a 23 year old adult male, Oakland resident, for driving with a suspended license in the area of I880 and Automall Pkwy.

#024 Robbery Attempt

At 3:47 p.m., a female was attacked by a male suspect near 3100 Mowry Avenue in what appears to have been an attempt to rob her of her purse.  The female received a small laceration and injuries to her face.  The suspect was described as an older white male, average height, thin build, 2-3” thin grey hair that was spiked, wearing a purple t-shirt and white pants. He was last seen running southbound on Paseo Padre Pkwy towards Walnut.  A similar male was spotted near Gateway Plaza but officers were unable to locate him there. The male is likely transient and may have been at a nearby business aggressively panhandling prior to the incident.

#037 Warrant Service

At 10:05 p.m., Officer Gregory and FTO Hollifield conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation in the area of Mission and Niles Blvd.  They contacted the driver and his female passenger, both who had active warrants for their arrest.  The 43 year old adult male, San Leandro resident and the 47 year old adult female San Leandro resident were both arrested and booked at Santa Rita Jail. 

#002 DUI Arrest

At 1:02 a.m. (9/19), officers were dispatched to Coaches Bar on the report of a collision where one party was suspected of being drunk.  Officers arrive and arrest a 38 year old adult male, Hayward resident, for DUI.  Case investigated by Officer Piol.

#003 Assault with a Deadly Weapon

At 12:38 a.m. (9/19), a 21 year old adult male walked into a local hospital with two stab wounds.  The male was completely uncooperative and provided little detail about what happened.  Officers investigate a possible location of occurrence, however no scene is located.  The male was transported to a trauma center for further treatment, with non-life threatening injuries.  Case investigated by Officer Hughes and FTO Torrico.

#016 Residential Burglary

A residential burglary occurred on the 41200 block of Roberts Ave.  The residence was tented for extermination.  Loss was jewelry and personal paperwork. 

#009 Commercial Burglary

Officers investigated a commercial burglary on the 4100 block of Business Center Dr.  Unknown suspect(s) broke front door and the reported loss was two computers.

#015 Commercial Burglary

Officers investigated a commercial burglary on the 38500 block of Fremont Blvd.  Unknown suspect(s) shattered the glass front window and stole the cash register with cash and coins.

#010 Stolen Vehicle

A 1995 black Honda civic 4D with California license plate #3TWY763 was taken from Masonic Terrace.

#011 Stolen Vehicle

A 1998 green Nissan Maxima with California license plate #4DFV480 was taken from Bradley Street.

#036 Robbery

At 6:53 p.m., a chain snatch robbery occurred in the area of 38000 Lexington Street. The suspect snatched a gold chain off a female’s neck and fled north on Lexington. He was seen by witnesses running east on Country Dr. and then south on Paseo Padre. The suspect was described as a Black male adult, 20-30 years old, 6’0, medium build, wearing a grey hoodie, unknown color shorts and “strange” shoes.

#002 DUI Arrest

At 2:03 a.m., Officer Piol conducted a traffic stop in the area of Niles Blvd. and J Street for a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the roadway.   The driver displayed signs of alcohol intoxication and was asked to form a field sobriety test.  The 21 year old adult male, Hayward resident was arrested for DUI and booked into the Fremont Jail. 

#039 Brandishing a Weapon

At 9:47 p.m., officers responded to a residence at the 4400 block of Fenico Tr. on the report of a male chasing people with a knife.  Several residents self-evacuated the home.  Officers confronted the 54 year old adult male on the porch and arrested him for exhibiting a deadly weapon.

#024 Felon in Possession of a Firearm

At 7:34 p.m., Officer Navas and FTO Lawrence were conducting a security check at Motel 6 north and they contacted a 37 year old adult male, Fremont resident, who was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot.  Officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted and a loaded handgun was located.  The male was arrested for having a concealed firearm in the vehicle and for being a felon in possession of a loaded handgun.

Outside Assist

At 4:56 p.m. Newark PD called dispatch to request our assistance regarding a large gathering at an event in their city.  Several officers responded to assist with crowd control.  Once on scene, the incident stabilized.

#017 Shoplifting 

At 4:50 p.m., officers responded to Costco for a citizen holding a suspect who had been seen price switching merchandise.  Officer Scherer responded and took custody of the 50 year old adult male, Oakland resident, and arrested him for shoplifting.

#025 Grant Theft Arrest 

Kohl’s security called to report that two suspects that committed a petty theft earlier in the week were now back in the store concealing merchandise in a bag.  Officers respond and detained the male half in the parking lot.  The second suspect was still in the store.  After nearly an hour, she female suspect walked out of the store with the merchandise and was detained.  The 29 year old adult female, San Jose resident is arrested for grand theft and two active misdemeanor warrants.  Case investigated by Officer Samayoa.

#020 Residential Burglary

Officers investigated a residential burglary in the 300 block of Lippert Ave.  Unknown suspect(s) forced entry through the garage door leading to the kitchen.  Loss to be determined.   Case investigated by CSO Goralczyk.

#022 Residential Burglary

Officers responded to the 36000 block of Niles Blvd. to investigate a residential burglary.  Unknown suspect(s) forced entry through a closed rear kitchen window.  Loss reported is gold jewelry.   Case investigated by Officer Goepp and FTO Layfield.

#001 Reckless Driving

At 11:32 p.m., officers responded to the area of Milmont Drive and Page Ave for cars possibly racing and side show activity. Officer Collins observed two vehicles driving recklessly. Officer Collins was able to make an enforcement stop on the vehicles. He arrested a 28 year old adult male, East Palo Alto resident and a 29 year old adult male, San Jose resident, for exhibition of speed. Both were booked into the Fremont Jail.

#002 Public Intoxication

At 12:29 a.m., Officer Latimer and FTO Macciola responded to a business in the 2500 block of Mowry Ave for a male passed out on the sidewalk. The 60 year old adult male, Newark resident, was found to be heavily intoxicated. The male was medically cleared and booked into Santa Rita Jail. 

#011 Hit and Run Property Damage Collision

Officers responded to a collision with property damage at Stewart and Albrea St. Officers arrived and located the collision, but the driver fled the scene. Case investigated by Officer Collins.
