During the overnight hours this weekend, several parked cars were entered and items were stolen. Please lock and alarm your cars. 
Please be advised the Police Department is investigating several reports of parked cars being entered and items stolen. So far, four reports have been made by residents of Lakewood Avenue, The Fairway and Woodlawn Terrace. It appears some of the thefts occurred overnight Friday into Saturday and some Saturday into Sunday. Known to be stolen are an iPad, 2 laptop computers and an assortment of DVD's. One of the victims reported a tracking device on the stolen iPad was giving a location of Springfield Avenue in Newark. Detectives are following up on the incidents.
Residents are urged to lock and alarm their vehicles when unattended, secure all keys and key fobs. Never leave valuables visible in the passenger compartment. In addition, please be alert for any suspicious activity and report it as it occurs to 973-239-4100 or 9-1-1 for crimes in progress. Thank you.
