A heat advisory is in effect for the entire area today with heat indices around 105. It's still looking like Monday will be dangerously hot, with heat index values possibly as high as 115. As a result, much of the area, including the entire KC metro was upgraded to an excessive heat warning.

Additionally, there is a chance that some severe storms could clip far northern/northeastern MO late tonight. This is dependent on how strong and how far east the cap exists. But the bulk of the severe activity will occur to the north and northeast of our forecast area.
