Rainfall of this amount will cause street flooding in numerous low lying areas in the District. Be very cautious when you encounter moving water on a roadway. Water depth is difficult to determine, especially after dark. Just 12 inches of water can float a typical vehicle off a roadway, and water 18-24 inches deep will float larger vehicles.
