Incidents 472 Reports 44

#018 Possession of a Methamphetamine Arrest

At approximately 9:25 a.m., Officer Gaziano contacted a 37 year old adult female, transient, near the 500 block of Mowry Avenue.  A records check revealed that the female had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for her arrest.  The female was arrested and a search was conducted, which revealed her to be in possession of methamphetamine.  The female was subsequently arrested and transported to Santa Rita.    

#047 Warrant Service 

Officer Zargham conducted a vehicle stop and contacted the 45 year old adult male driver,  who is found to have two outstanding warrants.  The male is booked into Santa Rita Jail.

#005 DUI Arrest  

Officer Piol stopped a vehicle and contacted the 46 year old adult male (Union City resident) driver and determined he was driving while under the influence of alcohol.  The male is transported to a local hospital for a blood draw and subsequently refuses to voluntarily provide a blood sample.  A McNeely warrant is written by Officer Piol for a forced blood draw which is approved by the on-call Judge.  The male is booked into Santa Rita Jail.

#003 Public Intoxication Arrest

At 1:40 a.m., WTH security calls to report a drunk male walked away from the ER.  Officers respond to the area and contact a 30 year old adult male, Los Altos resident.  The male is found to be unable to care for his own safety, arrested, and booked at Santa Rita Jail.  Case handled by Officer Meredith.

#020 Fraud - Theft and Use of ATM Cards

Officer San Luis and FTO Boyd were dispatched to investigate a reported suspicious circumstance at Bank of America.  According to the reporting party, two people associated with a green Ford Explorer were believed to be “shoulder surfing” customers ATM pin numbers.  Officer San Luis and FTO Boyd locate the vehicle along with a 23 year old adult male (Fremont resident) and a 25 year old adult female (Oakland resident).  The male was contacted as he was at the ATM machine, during which he appeared to be entering a pin number.  The male was on parole was found to be in possession of an ATM card that was not associated with him or the female.  The female was found to be in possession of numerous Bank of America ATM receipts, a large sum of money and had a warrant for her arrest.     Based upon the investigation and the fact that neither subjects were Bank of America customers they were subsequently arrested for a variety of fraud charges including grand theft of an access card.  The female was also arrested for her warrant.  

#044 Residential Burglary

At 4:53 p.m.,  officers investigated a residential burglary that was reported in the 47000 block of Mardis St.  Sometime during the night an unknown suspect(s) forced entry and took items.  The residence was under remodel and unoccupied at the time.

#051 Strong-Arm Robbery Arrest

At approximately 7:40 p.m. several officers responded to a battery between two transients at the Third Street Park in Niles.   A 46 year old adult male physically assaulted a 51 year old adult male victim.  The victim defended himself using pepper spray at which time the suspect takes the pepper spray away and uses it against the victim.  The suspect then fled with victim’s backpack and was later located by Officer Loughery sitting on the sidewalk in front of the Florence Bar.  The suspect was arrested but the victim’s backpack was not found.  The victim sustained minor injuries, but declined medical treatment.  The suspect was booked into Santa Rita Jail for robbery.

#058 Warrant Service

A female called 911 from a pay phone at Charter Square and made strange statements to Dispatch.  Officers arrive on scene and locate a 51 year old adult female.  The female is found to have several outstanding warrants and is booked at Santa Rita Jail. 

#054 Unattended Death 

Multiple citizens call to report that an unknown male had pulled up in a vehicle to the Starbucks at Mowry / Blacow and rolled out of the vehicle onto the pavement.  Officers arrive on scene and find the male still breathing.  The male is transported to a local hospital where he is later pronounced dead.  Nothing suspicious noted about the death.  Unattended death case handled by Officer Taylor.
