#141031002: Major Injury Collision

At 1:24 a.m., a homeowner on Richmond Drive in the Glenmoor neighborhood, called to report that he had found a motorcyclist crashed into his closed garage door.  He had no idea how long the rider had been there.  The rider was barely conscious and was unresponsive. The rider had suffered major injuries and a Traffic Unit call-out was initiated by Sgt. Tarango.  B-Side Traffic Officers responded and took over the investigation.  It was determined that the rider, a Fremont resident, had ridden southbound on Glenmoor Dr. in excess of 60 MPH and failed to stop or turn at the T-Intersection with Richmond Ave. and drove into the reporting parties driveway, colliding with his two parked cars and the closed garage door.  The rider struck and penetrated the wooden garage door and then struck a 400 lb. file cabinet just inside the door.  The rider was not wearing a helmet and the impact with the door caused life threatening injury.  He was transported to a trauma center.  Alcohol was a factor in this collision.  Traffic Officer Nevin investigated .

On 11/05/14, FPD was advised that the motorcyclist had died from injuries sustained from the collision.
