Fremont Police are conducting a search for a suspect in the area of I880 and Mowry Ave.
Shortly after 8:00 pm. CHP assisted the Fremont SWAT team by shutting down a section of I880 approximately 1/4 mi. south and 1/4 mi. north of Mowry Ave. Police are currently on-scene conducting a search for a suspect who is considered to be armed and dangerous. The suspect is being sought for a violent crime recently committed in our community.
The suspect is described as a black male adult, 20 yrs old, 5'8," 155 lbs., black hair, brown eyes, last seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes. Anyone who believes they may see this individual should immediately call 9-1-1 and not approach him. The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous.
CHP air support has been assisting in this search. We hope to restore traffic flow and reopen the freeway as soon as we can.
