Incidents 313 Reports 50

#004 Residential Burglary

At 7:11 a.m. officers were dispatched to a report of a residential burglary.  A neighbor who was walking her dog in the 43000 block of Gallegos called FPD and said she heard a loud “pop” and saw the shadow of someone in the area of her neighbor’s garage around 6:15 a.m.  She called the neighbor who came to the house and found that the side garage door had been kicked.  The garage and a storage shed had been ransacked.  Some of the property taken was located in the yard.  Investigated by Officer Wilkinson.

#006 Commercial Burglary

A passerby called to report that the front plate-glass window of the “Cutting Edge Beauty Salon” in the 37000 block of Fremont Blvd was shattered.  Officer Sasser investigated and determined that the business was burglarized.

#042 Suspicious Death/Suicide

Officers responded to Old Canyon Rd on a report of a woman who had flagged down a citizen and claimed her boyfriend had been murdered.  The woman explained to arriving officers that another male may have been with her boyfriend prior to her finding him deceased.  Officers were directed by the reporting party to a campsite along the north side of Niles Canyon Rd, approximately ½ mile east of Old Canyon.  Officer Loughery led a team of officers up a steep hillside and located the campsite and the decedent.  Sergeant Pace coordinated search teams in an effort to locate the associate due to the suspicious nature of the death.  A CHP helicopter assisted with a search of the area.  While securing the scene, evidence was located indicating that this was consistent with a suicide.  Officers ended their search and the Alameda County Coroner’s Office was called to respond.  Niles Canyon was closed for a couple of hours during this investigation. 

#001 DUI Arrest 

Two off-duty FPD officers see a vehicle hit a sign and jump a curb.  Officer Dooley locates the vehicle in the area of 5-Corners in Irvington and arrests a 58 year old adult male, Fremont resident, for DUI. 

#002 Battery Arrest 

At 12:17 a.m. officers are dispatched to the Saddle Rack for the report of an intoxicated male.  Saddle Rack security advised dispatch that a 23 year old adult male, Los Gatos resident, was being detained and had swung at a security officer.  Officer Meredith took a citizen’s arrest for battery.  Victim was a Saddle Rack security guard.  The male was arrested and booked into the Fremont Jail.

#003 Battery Arrest 

At 1:11 a.m., Officer Roberts was patrolling the Saddle Rack bar.  He was notified by security that a battery had occurred inside the building.  Security had detained a 28 year old adult male, Modesto resident, for punching another man.  The two had gotten into a dispute because the suspect was talking to the victims girlfriend.  The suspect eventually punched the victim, who fell to the ground.  Once on the ground, the suspect continued to attack the victim until they were separated.  Officer Roberts arrested the 28 year old adult male for battery.

#004 Warrant Arrest 

Officers respond to an apartment on Beacon Ave and arrested a 19 year old adult male, Fremont resident, for a theft warrant.

Traffic Safety Event at Central Park

The Traffic Unit held a Traffic Safety event at Central Park on Saturday.  More than 200 people came by and spoke to officers about pedestrian, bicycle and motorist safety. 

Warrant Arrest

Officer Valdes stopped a 39 year old adult male for panhandling at the Chevron gas station near Stevenson and Paseo Padre Pkwy and arrested him for multiple outstanding misdemeanor warrants. 

#045 Public Intoxication Arrest

Officer T. Bobbitt arrested a 29 year old adult male, Sacramento resident, for being drunk in public at the Centerville Train Depot on Fremont Blvd.

#047 Public Intoxication Arrest 

At approximately 10:35 p.m. officers were called to a disturbance at the Saddle Rack for a female who was trying to force her way through the front door after being denied entrance into the club.  Security detained her until officers could arrive.  Officer Meredith ends up arresting two females, a 25 year old and a 26 year old, for being drunk in public. 

#049 Vandalism Arrest

At 10:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of subjects tagging windows near Cloverleaf Bowl.  Officer Nordseth investigated and arrested a 32 year old adult male, Antioch resident and a 30 year old adult male, Fremont resident, for vandalism. 

#002 Battery Arrest

At 12:18 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Saddle Rack for two patrons who were involved in a fight.   Similar to the prior night’s activity, the two men had been in a verbal altercation over a female.   The verbal altercation escalated when one man head-butted the other.  Officer Meredith cited and then released a 27 year old adult male, Hayward resident, for battery at the Saddle Rack.

#003 Arson

At 12:35 a.m., officers responded to a report that a subject had just lit a vehicle on fire in the area of Overacker Ave and Mowry Ave.  The car was registered out of San Leandro.   The registered owner of the vehicle was contacted by San Leandro PD, who provided proof that they had not been in Fremont.  CSI Allen processed the scene.  The suspect was described as a slender person, approximately 5’7” wearing dark clothing.  The person was last seen running westbound on Overacker Ave towards Mowry Ave. 

#009 Public Intoxication Arrest

At approximately 4:40 a.m., Officer Nordseth was dispatched to the area of El Portal Ave and Niles Blvd regarding a subject yelling and causing a disturbance in the area.  The male was located sitting in a disabled vehicle with a flat tire, but there were keys no keys in the vehicle. The 20 year old adult male believed that he was in front of his apartment complex in Hayward even after being told he was in Fremont several times.  The 20 year old adult male was arrested for public intoxication and transported to Santa Rita Jail.

AUTO BURGLARY - FREMONT STATION

9/20/14 11:18 a.m.

A patron reported seeing a suspicious person next to a vehicle that had its window smashed. An officer searched the area but was unable to locate the suspect. The officer located a Mini Cooper with its passenger side window smashed and interior ransacked. The loss is undetermined at this point. The officer attempted to process the vehicle for fingerprints. Incidents 248 Reports 29

Parking Complaints:

Community Service Officers Goralczyk and Anders conducted parking enforcement in the Stanford Ln/Vineyard Hills area of Mission Peak from approximately 7:20 a.m. – 10:50 a.m., their enforcement efforts resulted in the issuance of 27 citations for various Fremont municipal code and vehicle code violations.

#004 Obstructing an Officer/Resisting Arrest/Public Intoxication Arrest 

At approximately 2:00 a.m., officers responded to the Kohenoor Restaurant, located on the 5300 block of Mowry Ave for an intoxicated subject causing a disturbance.  The reporting party stated that the male was refusing to leave.  When officers arrive, the male approaches the patrol car and begins to verbally yell obscenities at the first officer.  The male refuses to calm down.  Two additional officers arrive and the male is taken into custody after a brief struggle.  While attempting to place the suspect in the back of a patrol car, he kicks one officer in the chest.    For everyone’s safety, a WRAP was used. The suspect remained uncooperative, refused to give his identity and yelled obscenities during his trip to Dublin.  Once at Santa Rita Jail, deputies had to carry him into the jail.  He was booked for obstructing an officer, resisting arrest and public intoxication.
