#014 Warrant Arrest

At approximately 7:45 a.m., FTO Sasser and Officer Ramsey attempted to arrest a 24 year old adult male, Fremont resident who had an active warrant for burglary amongst other things.  When officers arrive, he fled on foot near Brophy/Fenton and officers set up a perimeter.  With the assistance of a Milpitas K9 and an East Bay Regional Parks helicopter, a yard to yard search was completed.  Just before 11:30 a.m. officers broke down the perimeter.  At approximately, 1:25 p.m. a retired Fremont PD Officer who was in the area spotted the suspect near Brophy/Blacow.  The retired officer was aware of the wanted suspect and alerted FPD.  The retired officer tackled the suspect and assisted taking him into custody.  The retired officer ironically had also been the suspects School Resource Officer a few years prior.  The retiree suffered a minor injury which was treated at the scene and the suspect sustained an injury that was treated at a local hospital.  Many thanks to all who assisted, especially the retired FPD Officer.

#013 Commercial Burglary

Officer Singleton investigated a commercial burglary from the Lucky’s grocery store on the 5000 block of Mowry Ave.  Four suspects entered the store and stole several containers of baby formula.  The suspects fled in a 1993 grey Ford Taurus, bearing license plate 3HFN261.  Detective Franchi is continuing follow up with the case.

Missing Person/Intoxicated Juvenile:

Officers were originally dispatched to a man-down call at the dead end of Gallegos.  The reporting party stated that he saw a juvenile female that appeared to be unconscious with two teenage males standing near her.  Officers searched the area without success.  A short time later, dispatch received a 911 call from a female who said her friend was intoxicated and passed out and they were somewhere in the open space behind Luzon Dr.  Officers began searching the area and ultimately located the females in the area.   The intoxicated female was transported to the hospital and was very thankful to be found.  Officer Hartman did a great job locating them.  Sgt. Delema coordinated the search.

#062 Warrant Arrest

Officer Gentry and FTO Settle conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 46 year old adult male for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

#063 Possession of Marijuana for Sales 

Officer Chahouati responded to a complaint of drug activity in the area of Carol Ave and Carol Terrace. Officer Chahouati conducted an investigative stop and arrested a 19 year old adult male for possession of marijuana for sales.   

#001 Possession of a Loaded Firearm

Sgt. Bocage conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle at Thornton and Moraine. During the detention Sgt. Bocage observed a semi-auto handgun on the rear passenger floorboard. Several Officers respond to assist. Officer Luevano took over the investigation and arrested a 19 year old adult male for possession of a loaded Glock 9mm with a loaded 30 round magazine.

#002 Drunk in Public

While covering CSI Wilson on a traffic stop, Officer Gentry and FTO Settle observe a 48 year old adult male staggering towards them along the sidewalk.  The man then walked right into a telephone pole. Fortunately he was not injured however, Officer Gentry placed him under arrest for being too intoxicated to care for himself.

#003 Ascertain the Problem Call

At approximately 2:40 a.m., a private security guard called 9-1-1 to report a possible burglary in progress at a large vacant commercial building on Milmont Rd. The security guard saw two suspects with flash lights and heard them cutting metal near the back of the business. Officers set up containment around the business and searched for signs of forced entry. While checking the exterior, Officers hear loud noises from inside. Officer Austin located two trucks backed up next to an open roll-up door. Officer Austin also heard and male’s voice and believed the male went back inside the business. Dispatch conducted a records check and could not locate any information on a responsible for the building. Additional officers responded and a surround and call-out was initiated. A male and female exited the business and were detained. They both claimed they were hired for construction work however, they had no permits, contracts or any paper work to support their claim. The detainees claimed their teenage children were sleeping in vacant offices somewhere inside the large building. Offices continued with verbal commands from the exterior of the building for approximately 30 minutes, until four teenagers exited and were detained. In the end, the investigation revealed the family was hired to demolish the interior of the building for remodel.  Documented by Officer Austin.

#004 Under the Influence and Possession of a Controlled Substance Arrest

Officer Ramsey and FTO Leopardi contacted a male behind the old Bay Street Coffee.  He was found to be under the influence of and possession of a controlled substance.  Arrested was a 32 year old adult male, Antioch resident.

#009 Suspicious Circumstances

Officer Hartman investigated a suspicious circumstance on the 34000 block of Webfoot Loop.  Two males representing themselves as alarm company upgrade representatives contacted multiple residents on this street offering to modify their existing systems.  These residents were targeted because they had signs in their yard indicating they already had an alarm.  In one instance they were allowed inside a home to “inspect” the system, taking note of sensor locations.  Another resident noticed this and asked them to leave, which they did.  Officer Hartman followed up with alarm companies and could not identify the males.

Missing 12-year old

At 12:17 p.m, FPD received a call from the mother of a 12 year old girl missing from the 900 block of Arikara Dr.  She was an hour overdue from riding her bike to a friend’s house for the first time.  With no cell phone the family was unable to contact her.  We responded in force, sending three Sergeants, two Officers and one Traffic Officer to search for the girl.  Units searched the area and by 12:38 p.m. she was located unharmed in the area of Weibel Elementary.

Drunk in Public:

Officer Hartman located a 45 year old adult male, transient, passed out in front of the Urgent Care on Walnut and arrested him for being drunk in public.

#018 Warrant Arrest

Officer Samayoa contacted a 31 year old adult male, Oakland resident and arrested him for warrants.

#025 Drunk in Public

Officer M. Smith located a 45 year old adult male, Fremont resident, who was extremely intoxicated in front of Mission Pizza.  He was booked for drunk in public.

#027 Drunk in Public

Officer T. Bobbitt located a well-known 59 year old adult female transient near Timber Creek Terrace.  The female was once again drunk and belligerent.  After being arrested and placed into the patrol car, she started to kick the windows.  For safety reasons, she was placed in a WRAP and transported to Santa Rita.

#030, 032 & 033 Auto Burglaries

Officer Gonzalez was dispatched to a just-occurred auto burglary at the Jamba Juice in Pacific Commons.  Shortly thereafter, several more auto burglary reports came in at various locations around Pacific Commons.  Suspect description was a black male in a dark green Honda with a partial plate of 4SV067. 

#038 Under the Influence of Meth and DUI Arrest

Officer Hernandez and FTO Ehling conducted a traffic stop on a 51 year old adult male, San Jose resident and arrested him being under the influence of Meth, DUI and throwing a meth pipe out of the window before pulling over. The passenger, a 36 year old adult female, Gilroy resident, also went to jail for being under the influence of meth.

#002, 004, 005 & 006 Drunk in Public / Resisting Arrest

Saddle Rack Security requested assistance from FPD to remove an unwanted patron from their property. When officers contacted the subject, he refused to leave or comply with commands and was eventually placed under arrest.  As this was occurring an unrelated brawl erupted in the outdoor patio smoking area. Multiple males and females were involved and were throwing bottles at each other.  Officers and Security were outnumbered while attempting to control the crowd. Additional units were requested Code-3 to end the fighting and prevent a large scale event. Two additional fights occurred as officers arrived to control the crowd. In the end, order was restored and four people went to jail:

Case #002 – Resisting Arrest (misd.), a 27 year old adult male, San Jose resident, arrested by Officer Austin.

Case #004 – Resisting Arrest (felony), a 25 year old adult male, Gilroy resident, arrested by Officer Wilson.

Case #005 – Resisting Arrest (misd.), a 28 year old adult male, Union City resident, arrested by Officer Layfield.

Case #006 – Resisting Arrest (misd.), a 21 year old adult male, Tracy resident, arrested by Officer Soper.

#027 Strong Armed Robbery @ Manitoba Terrace

The victim was confronted by a robbery suspect inside a housing complex located on Manitoba Terrace.  The unknown suspect stole the victim’s iPhone.  The suspect fled on foot in the northbound direction of Gatewood St towards Doane St.  The suspect was described as a Hispanic male juvenile, approximately 15 years old, wearing a black jacket and carrying a black bag.  Officer Gentry/Settle investigating.

#029 Driving on a Suspended License

Officer Meredith conducted a traffic stop on a 33 year old adult male, Union City resident and arrested him for driving on a suspended license.

IH #P14029418 Outside Assist for Fremont Fire

FFD requested assistance with a structure fire at a residence on Woodbridge Pl. The family was safely evacuated from the residence however; some of the family’s pets did not make it. Officers assisted with traffic control and Animal Services was requested for the pets. Scene supervised by Sgt. Cochran.
