Approaching winter weather brings multiple alerts to Teton County. Click link/see email for details.

An approaching winter storm has created three significant alerts we would like you to be aware of for the weekend of January 11 and 12:

  1. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm WARNING for Jackson Hole and the surrounding mountains through 11am Sunday.  Visit http://weather.gov/riw for the latest information.
  2. The Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center has issued an Avalanche WARNING for the Teton and Gros Ventre ranges from 1pm Saturday to 1pm Sunday Januay 12.  Visit http://jhavalanche.org for the latest information.
  3. Wyoming Department of Transportation has issued a statement that they will need to close Highway 22 Teton Pass at 9pm on Saturday January 11 for avalanche control.  Closures could occur earlier if conditions worsen. Large avalanches could keep the highway closed overnight.  All efforts will be made to keep the roadway open and safe.  Visit http://wyoroad.info for the latest information.
