2012 Ready Set Go Topanga Evacuation Drill Update 
It is 10:30 a.m. and residents of the canyon are now receiving a phone call from ALERT LA with evacuation instructions as shown below:
“THIS IS ONLY A DRILL. The fire has now crossed Rochemont Drive, 40 acres, and spotting approximately ½ to 1 mile ahead. Zone 7 is now under an evacuation order. Zone 7 is the Fernwood area north of Bowers and Observation, plus Old Topanga Canyon south of Monte Vista. Residents on Old Topanga should leave the canyon northwest on Old Topanga and head to Taft High School. From the Fernwood area of Zone 7, proceed southbound on Topanga Canyon Blvd. and go to Palisades High School. We are also ordering Zones 2 and 3 to be evacuated, and residents in Zones 2 and 3 should travel either northbound on Topanga Canyon Blvd. or northwest on Old Topanga, and proceed to Taft high School. Zone 2 is everyone in Old Canyon west of Henry Ridge and north of Topanga Skyline. Zone 3 is everyone west of Topanga Canyon Blvd., north of Hillside, east of Henry Ridge, and south of Entrado. THIS IS ONLY A DRILL.”
