2012 Ready Set Go Topanga Evacuation Drill Update 
It is 10 a.m. and residents of the canyon are now receiving a phone call from ALERT LA with evacuation instructions as shown below:
"THIS IS ONLY A DRILL. A brush fire was reported in Topanga State Park near the East Topanga Fire Road. It is currently 10 acres and running, with winds out of the east at 25 to 40 miles per hour, gusting to 60. At this time, we are ordering the immediate evacuation of Zones 4 and 6. Proceed northbound on Topanga Canyon Blvd. to the Evacuation Center at Taft High School. Zone 4 is everyone east of Topanga Canyon between the Community House and View Ridge. Zone 6 is everyone north of Entrada, south of Oakwood, and east of Henry Ridge. THIS IS ONLY A DRILL."
