The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office announces the transfer of 21-year-old Jayvon Andre Garrett of Beaufort to the Beaufort County Detention Center as of September 12, 2025. Garrett is being held on arrest warrants for murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and aggravated breach of peace.
The charges stem from a September 2024 shooting at Magnolia Park Apartments in Burton that claimed the life of 17-year-old Arianna Mulligan and injured two others.
Garrett had been in custody at the Charleston County Detention Center for nearly a year following an armed robbery arrest the day after the Magnolia Park Apartments shooting.
To date, five adults have been arrested in connection with this case, all facing the same charges of murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and aggravated breach of peace. All remain in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center:
- Jayvon Andre Garrett, 21, of Beaufort
- Storm Lemont Zop Polite, 24, of Dale
- Jeremiah Kieyonte Warren, 19, of St. Helena Island
- Rashod Lorenzo Williams, 19, of Grays Hill
- Derrick Jerrod McKee, 18, of Beaufort
Additionally, two juveniles were detained in connection with the case.
