INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision/Attempt to Identify Vehicle of Interest
LOCATION: Barton Road and Oakwood Drive, Loma Linda, CA
SUSPECT(S): Unknown
VICTIM(S): James Spivey Jr., 39-years-old, Resident of Loma Linda
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at about 7:40 p.m., deputies assigned to the city of Loma Linda responded to a report of a pedestrian, later identified as James Spivery Jr., lying in the middle of the roadway, near the intersection of Barton Road and Oakwood Drive.
When deputies arrived, it was determined Spivey was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lanes of Barton Road, and the vehicle fled the scene. After the collision, the pictured vehicle was seen driving westbound on Barton Road in eastbound lanes of traffic.
Spivey was transported to a local hospital and later died as a result of the collision.
The vehicle is possibly a white, Nissan Juke with frontend damage and possibly missing the front Nissan emblem. Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone with information on the involved vehicle or driver, to please contact Deputy R.
