Narrative:
On February 9, 2023, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Street Team, in collaboration with the Culver City Crime Impact Team, concluded a lengthy investigation into Kevin Mulvihill.  Mulvihill was identified as a supplier of fentanyl and methamphetamine to residents of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.  The investigation revealed Mulvihill was operating his illicit drug supplying business out of various motels and short-term rental properties in Los Angeles.

Detectives were granted a search warrant for Mulvihill, his vehicle and the motel room he was renting by the Ventura County Superior Court.  Narcotics Detectives detained Mulvihill in his vehicle pursuant to the search warrant in a public parking lot in the 4700 block of Inglewood Blvd. in Culver City.  A short time later, Detectives executed the search warrant at Mulvihill’s motel room in the 10800 block of Santa Monica Blvd. in Los Angeles.

As a result of the investigation over four pounds of methamphetamine, over a pound and a half of fentanyl, 978 counterfeit oxycodone pills (believed to be fentanyl), hundreds of prescription medication pills and US Currency deemed to be proceeds from drug sales were seized from Mulvihill. The total amount of opioids seized during this arrest was over 600 grams, which equates to approximately 15,000 doses. As a point of reference, ingesting as little as .25 milligrams of fentanyl could be a fatal amount.  This equates to just this one seizure having the potential to kill over a million people.

This case has been submitted to the United States Attorney’s office for filing consideration.
