Advisory

Initial Notification of Power Outage in Palo Alto

This message is being sent on behalf of the City of Palo Alto Utilities Department.

We are aware of a power outage currently affecting some of our customers.  Utilities Department staff are already taking steps to address the outage.

Please do NOT call 9-1-1 or the non-emergency numbers to either the Police Department or the Fire Department to report the power outage or to ask questions about it.  This will unnecessarily tie up the phone lines, and dispatchers do not have any information about the outage.

To get the most current information on the status of the outage, please visit the Palo Alto Utilities Department’s Twitter account at www.twitter.com/PAUtilities.  No Twitter account is necessary to read their updates; simply go to that website and refresh the page periodically to read any new messages.

Visit the Palo Alto Utilities Department’s Electric Outage Map at www.cityofpaloalto.org/OutageMap to view where the outage is currently occurring in Palo Alto, and how many customers are potentially affected.

The Palo Alto Police Department will not be sending any follow-up Nixle messages about this outage; this is an initial notification only.  Please refer to the links above for additional information.
