Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Deputies and Traffic Services Detail Detectives are currently investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that occurred on Rooks Road, near Rose Hills Road, in the city of Pico Rivera.
Pico Station Sheriff’s deputies responded to Rooks Road and Rose Hills Road, Pico Rivera regarding a traffic collision involving two pedestrians.
Three female adults were walking southbound on the curb of Rooks Road approaching Rose Hills Road, when two of them were struck by a vehicle, also traveling southbound on Rooks Road.
The vehicle fled the scene, continuing southbound on Rooks Road toward Rose Hills Road, and out of view.
LA County Fire Department paramedics responded and began providing life saving measures. One female was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other was transported to a local area hospital for serious injuries.
