INCIDENT: Homicide Investigation
LOCATION: Flood Control Channel near the 1900 Block of Del Rosa Avenue, San Bernardino
SUSPECT(S): Unknown
VICTIM(S): Juan Manuel Montez, 33-year-old Transient of San Bernardino - Hispanic male adult, 5”’6”, with black hair, brown eyes and had an A.K.A. of “Evil” or “Lil Diablo”
SUMMARY:
On Friday, February 10, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., deputies from the Sheriff’s Central Station responded to the county flood control channel near the 1900 block of Del Rosa Avenue, in San Bernardino. Arriving deputies located a deceased male subject, later identified as Juan Manuel Montez, down an embankment of the flood control channel. Montez had several injuries to his face and his head, and the manner of death was determined to be homicide. Montez was known to frequent the area of Highland Avenue, near Del Rosa Avenue.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded and assumed the investigation.
