Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult.
Deputies from Lancaster Sheriff’s Station responded to the 1600 block of West Avenue J in the city of Lancaster regarding a gunshot victim call.
The incident occurred on Monday January 23, 2023 at approximately 2:17 AM.
When deputies arrived they were informed by Antelope Valley Hospital Security that the victim, a Black male, 19-25 years of age, had been located on the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper torso. The victim was transported into the hospital and was subsequently pronounced deceased.
There is no suspect or suspect vehicle information at this time.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
