Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death investigation of a female adult.
On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at approximately 8:31 p.m., South Los Angeles County Sheriff's station deputies responded to the 11200 block of South Mariposa Avenue, in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles, regarding a gunshot victim call. Upon arriving, they located a 20-year-old female Hispanic suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
The female adult victim was transported to a local area hospital where she subsequently succumbed to her injuries on Friday, January 6, 2023.
There is no suspect or suspect vehicle information.
The investigation is ongoing and currently, there is no additional information.

NARRATIVE:
On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at approximately 8:31 p.m., South Los Angeles County Sheriff's station deputies responded to the 11200 block of South Mariposa Avenue, in the city of Los Angeles regarding a gunshot victim call. Upon arriving, they located a 20-year-old female Hispanic suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Witnesses said they heard a single gunshot and saw the victim laying on the ground.
The female adult victim was transported to a local area hospital where she is listed in critical condition and not expected to survive.
Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses and surveillance
video.
