Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing to assist Hawthorne Police Department into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult.
Officers from Hawthorne Police Department responded to the 11500 block of York Avenue in the city of Hawthorne regarding a gunshots fired call.
The incident occurred on December 24, 2022 at approximately 7:29 p.m.
When Hawthorne Police Officers arrived they found the victim, a Black male, 20-30 years of age, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso, while seated in the driver seat of his vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
There is no suspect or suspect vehicle information.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives responded to the 11500 block of York Avenue, in the city of Hawthorne to assist Hawthorne Police Department with a shooting death investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The male adult victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
