*SECOND UPDATE* #LASD Homicide Bureau Responded to a Death Investigation at the 1100 block of North Grand Avenue #Walnut

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a male adult in the city of Walnut.
 
Homicide Investigators have identified the pedestrian victim as Rafael Barragan Jr., an employee at Mt. San Antonio College. 
 
Investigators identified the suspect as James Milliken, a former employee of Mt. San Antonio College.  The suspect has been arrested for murder and is currently in custody.
 
There is no additional information available at this time.

INITIAL UPDATE IS AS FOLLOWS:

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a male adult in the city of Walnut.
 
Deputies from Walnut Station responded to a Vehicle versus Pedestrian Traffic Collision call for service at the Mt. San Antonio College located at the 1100 block of N. Grand Avenue in Walnut.  The incident occurred on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at approximately 07:30 A.M.

When deputies arrived, they located the pedestrian unresponsive and suffering from trauma.  Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. 

The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local area hospital where he was treated and subsequently admitted.
 
The traffic collision appears to be an intentional act.
 
The investigation is on-going and there is no additional information available at this time.

The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
