On November 27, 2022, at 1:08 a.m., deputies were near Palm Avenue and Gromer Avenue in Wasco, CA, when they heard gunshots nearby. While investigating the shots heard, deputies arrived and located 4 occupied vehicles. As deputies attempted to make contact, the vehicles fled. Deputies pursued the suspect vehicle. The vehicle became involved in a single vehicle accident. An occupant of the vehicle was armed with a handgun and fled on foot. It was at this time an officer-involved shooting occurred. The suspect, an approximate 21-year-old Hispanic male, was struck and transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
