Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a male adult.
Deputies from Norwalk Sheriff’s Station responded to the 16100 block of Marlinton (correction, previously reported as Marlington) Drive, Whittier regarding an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, a 74 year-old male Hispanic on the porch of his residence, suffering from apparent head trauma.
Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The victim was discovered by his adult son, who heard a disturbance on the porch and went outside to investigate. It was reported that the victim was arguing with a neighbor prior to the disturbance on the porch.
The neighbor, a male White in his late twenties is currently being interviewed and the investigation is ongoing.
There were no witnesses immediately available.

The male hispanic adult victim was pronounced at the scene. A male adult suspect is in custody.
