On 11/09/22 at 12:36 A.M., officers of the Janesville Police Department were dispatched to the Quality Inn, located at 3520 Milton Ave., for a traffic complaint. A citizen reported that there was a vehicle driving recklessly in the parking lot and squealing its tires. Upon officer arrival, the vehicle was gone. Officers located the suspect vehicle a short distance away and initiated a traffic stop.
The driver displayed signs of impairment by alcohol, admitted to consuming alcohol, and smelled of the odor of intoxicating beverages. The driver refused to perform standardized field sobriety test or give a preliminary breath sample. The driver was identified as Jerid J. Reynolds. Reynolds was eventually arrested for OWI 8th offense. A check of Reynold’s driver’s license showed a revoked status, 7 prior OWI convictions, and a 0.02 BAC restriction. Reynolds was also out on parole for OWI offenses.
Reynolds later provided a blood sample for evidentiary chemical testing. The test results are still pending. Reynolds was later transported to the Rock County Jail where he is awaiting an initial appearance.
