**UPD** #LASD Homicide Bureau Responded to Deputy-Involved Shooting, 44500 Blk Sierra Highway, #Lancaster

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a deputy-involved shooting of a male adult. 
 
On Monday September 5, 2022, at approximately 8:58 a.m. deputies from Lancaster Sheriff’s Station observed a male Black adult wanted in connection with multiple armed robberies, on the 44500 block of Sierra Highway, in the city of Lancaster.
 
As deputy personnel attempted to detain the suspect, he produced a firearm and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

The suspect was treated by medical personnel on scene and transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

A firearm was recovered at the scene.

There are no outstanding suspects, and there is no additional information available at this time.

Whenever a deputy-involved shooting occurs involving Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies, and a person is struck by gunfire, multiple independent investigations immediately begin at the scene.  These include separate investigations by the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau and Internal Affairs Bureau.  The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department immediately notifies the Office of the Inspector General who sends a representative to the incident scene and provides independent oversight throughout the investigative process.  Once concluded, a preliminary review is conducted by the Critical Incident Review Panel to determine whether any immediate actions are warranted.  Every aspect of the shooting is reviewed by the Sheriff's Executive Force Review Committee.  Input from Constitutional Policing Advisors is provided during the process.  The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Justice System Integrity Division, conducts a legal analysis to determine whether any criminal charges will be filed and if the shooting was legally justified.

NARRATIVE: 
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are responding to a deputy involved shooting investigation. The incident was reported Monday, September 5, 2022, at approximately 8:36 a.m., on the 44400 block of Sierra Highway, Lancaster.
 
The male adult suspect was struck by gunfire and transported to a local hospital to be treated.
 
No deputies were injured during the incident.
 
There is no additional information available at this time.
