Needles Man Arrested for Attempted Murder, Elder Abuse, and False Imprisonment

INCIDENT: Attempted Murder, False Imprisonment and Elder Abuse
LOCATION: 300 Block of Victory Drive, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Leslie (Lester) Allen Hooper, 54 Year-Old Male, Resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Thursday, August 11, 2022 at approximately 1:16 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to a report of an assault that occurred near the 300 block of Victory Drive in Needles.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found the victim had been assaulted and was suffering from serious life threatening injuries. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. During the investigation, Leslie Hooper was identified as the suspect.
Hooper was consequently arrested for PC 664/187(A) - Attempted Murder, PC 368(B)(1) - Elder Abuse and PC236 - False Imprisonment. Hooper was transported the Colorado River Station jail for booking and remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $1,000,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
