Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male Hispanic in his 30’s in unincorporated Gardena.
Compton Station deputies responded to the 100 block of Rosecrans Avenue, Gardena regarding a gunshot victim call for service. Upon arriving, deputies discovered the victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Based on preliminary information, investigators learned the victim was a local fruit vendor who was the victim of an attempted robbery.
There are two male Black adult suspects still outstanding. The murder weapon also remains outstanding.
This investigation is on-going and there is no additional information available at this time.
