Bank Robbery on Yulupa Avenue – Detectives Need the Community’s Help to Identify the Suspect

On Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 4:44 p.m., the Santa Rosa Police Department’s Communication Center received a call regarding a bank robbery in the 2700-block of Yulupa Av. Several officers were immediately dispatched to the location. With the assistance of Henry-1 (Sonoma County Sheriff’s helicopter), officers searched the area for the suspect who fled. The suspect was not located.
At the bank, officers learned that an unknown adult male entered the bank and used a threatening note to demand money from the teller. The suspect fled the bank after receiving a small amount of money. The suspect fled on a bicycle westbound, across Yulupa Avenue, and into the Ace Hardware/Safeway Shopping Center parking lot. The suspect rode behind the store and across the pedestrian bridge that leads to Cactus Avenue.
The suspect was described as a white male adult, 5’4” to 5’5”, with a medium build. He was wearing a dark baseball-style hat, black sunglasses, a navy-blue long sleeve shirt, grey sweatpants, and a black gaiter-style face covering.
The Santa Rosa Police Department’s Violent Crimes Team has taken over the investigation and SRPD Field and Evidence Technicians processed the crime scene. Detectives are looking for any witnesses or surveillance footage to help identify the suspect.
