Press Release-Motorcycle collision

On Thursday July 7th, 2022, at 2:34 p.m., the Santa Rosa Police Department received calls of a traffic collision in the area of Cleveland Avenue near Frances Street.  It was reported that a solo motorcyclist had collided with a wall at the intersection and was down on the ground.  When Officers arrived on-scene, the motorcyclist was being treated by Santa Rosa Fire and Sonoma Life Support personnel.

Officers spoke with witnesses and learned that the motorcyclist was eastbound Frances Street at Cleveland Avenue.  The motorcyclist had a green light, and when the motorcyclist entered the intersection the motorcyclist lost control of the motorcycle and drove straight into a concrete wall that borders Highway 101.

The motorcyclist was riding a grey 2003 Honda.  Officers are still working on attempting to identify the rider.

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with major injuries that are life threatening.

The intersection where the accident occurred was briefly shut down but has since been reopened.
