Residents are reminded that the use of fireworks is restricted by state law and municipal ordinance. Please be mindful of these key provisions and always use fireworks responsibly!
You must be at least 16 to buy, posess, or use fireworks.
Permissible fireworks are limited to hand held or ground based sparklers, snakes, and glow worms; and trick noisemakers, including party poppers, snappers, and drop pops.
Fireworks shall not be discharged:
• between 10:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.
• within 15 feet of any structure.
• on any City property (including but not limited to City parks, parking lots and Streets)
The City has a zero tolerance policy for violations of these laws, and penalties for violations could result in fines of up to $2000, community service, and/or imprisonment. Violations can be reported to our non-emergency number, (908) 474-8500. PLEASE DO NOT CALL 9-1-1 EXCEPT IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
