Narrative:
The Thousand Oaks Police Department is asking for Public Assistance in identifying the vehicle or the driver from the following traffic collision.  Attached are photographs of the suspect vehicle.

On 06/07/2022, at approximately 8:40 PM, an on-duty Thousand Oaks patrol deputy stopped for a male who appeared to have collapsed within a marked crosswalk located on Thousand Oaks Boulevard, just west of Clay Court.  Further investigation revealed that the male pedestrian was with a group of individuals who were crossing Thousand Oaks Boulevard.  The pedestrian started to cross the roadway when he was struck by a white sedan.  Evidence at the scene indicated that the white sedan was traveling eastbound on Thousand Oaks Boulevard, just west of Clay Court.  A witness said the vehicle momentarily stopped just past the crosswalk, before fleeing the scene of the accident.  The male was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.  Unfortunately, the male subject later passed away from his injuries.

We later learned that driver fled the scene of the collision eastbound on Thousand Oaks Boulevard, turned right (south) onto Rancho Road and then headed northbound on the US-101 freeway.

This collision is under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Traffic Bureau.  Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information regarding this collision is encouraged to contact Senior Traffic Investigator Marcos Moreno at 805-947-8289.
