Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstance surrounding the shooting death of two El Monte Police Officers.
Investigators have learned, El Monte Police Officers responded to 10327 Garvey Avenue, El Monte, at the Siesta Inn Motel, regarding a welfare check of a possible female stabbed at the location. Officers arrived on scene and contacted a female adult and the suspect. During this contact, an officer involved
shooting occurred. Additional El Monte Police Officers responded to the location and were met by the armed suspect. A second officer involved shooting occurred.
Two El Monte Police Officers were struck by gunfire. They were transported to LA County USC Hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.
The suspect was also struck by gunfire at the location. LA County Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the suspect deceased. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are assisting El Monte Police Department with an officer involved shooting investigation. The incident was reported Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at approximately 4:47 p.m., near the 10300 block of Garvey Avenue in El Monte.
The male adult was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two El Monte Police Officers were transported to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva and El Monte Police Department Captain Ben Lowry will be holding a press conference at 9:00 P.M. at the Clinic Tower entrance of LAC+USC Medical Center, 2051 Marengo Street, Los Angeles, CA 90033.
