Rural Crimes Arrests

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crimes Investigations Unit has been investigating a series of diesel fuel thefts in the Shafter, Wasco, and Buttonwillow area. On May 26, 2022, at approximately 11:30 a.m., during this investigation, and in conjunction with the Shafter Police Department, and North Area deputies, they arrested Donald Webb, 59, out of Shafter, and David Barnum, 32, out of Bakersfield. Both individuals had multiple felony warrants. Both individuals were in the 30500 block of Orange Avenue, inside of a green Ford Expedition with false license plates, a transfer pump, hoses, and multiple jugs of fuel. The two individuals were booked at the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility for their felony warrants.

On May 26, 2022, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the Rural Crimes Investigations Unit, as well as the North Area deputies, arrested Ruden Sandoval, 23, out of Shafter for driving a stolen L4400 Kubota tractor to a property in the 18200 block of Poplar Avenue. Sandoval then left the Kubota tractor and stole a John Deere 6430. Sandoval was detained by deputies and arrested for PC 496(D)- possession of a stolen vehicle and PC 487K- possession of stolen agriculture equipment.
